Purpose<br />

Details:<br />

• Students would arrive in <strong>Grenoble</strong> in May<br />

to start an internship at a French<br />

company.<br />

• Term starts in September. Exams will be<br />

held in December.


Financial:<br />

• Students will receive a $2800 tuition bursary.<br />

• Students are guaranteed employment at French<br />

industry or research lab for 4 months, earning<br />

1000 Euro/month.<br />

• Tuition is paid to <strong>McMaster</strong> (full tuition).<br />

• Students will continue to be registered as fulltime<br />

students at <strong>McMaster</strong> during the exchange.

Specialized Courses:<br />

• The following courses are somewhat more advanced and<br />

unique.<br />

– Materials Science For nuclear Engineering: 12 Units.<br />

A group <strong>of</strong> specialized courses designed for students with interest in a<br />

career in the nuclear industry.<br />

– Materials Science Issues and Politics: 2 Units.<br />

Another New and Unique course.<br />

– Numerical Methods: 4 Units.<br />

Management and Society<br />

Students<br />

• Management and Society students will do an internship<br />

during the summer between 3 rd and 4 th year.<br />

• Students will do the fall term <strong>of</strong> 4 th year in France.<br />

• Management students can write a report on their<br />

industrial internship and this will count as ENG MGT<br />

4A01.<br />

• Management students may take commerce courses in<br />

France, if their French is good.


Procedure<br />

• Number <strong>of</strong> spaces available, 4 to 6.<br />

• Application Deadline: Nov. 1, 2009<br />

• To apply please provide:<br />

– Resume.<br />

– Cover letter which includes a time table for your courses this<br />

year and next year.<br />

• Notification <strong>of</strong> acceptance: Nov. 15, 2009<br />

– Once you are accepted, we’ll go over the courses you’ll be<br />

taking in France.<br />

– Apply for residence, health insurance and visa.
