The Marcel project is a module sofa made entirely of
steel which evokes a parapet overlooking an imaginary
ocean. The sofa, Marcel, consists of 90x90cm modular
parts. The common base for all the angle and central
modules is made of steel tubing and the cushioned
seating area is made of moulded sheet metal. Both the
angle and central module backrests are screwed to
the base via laser-cut steel side supports, connected
to each other by steel tubes of varying diameter and

with cone-shaped ends. The backrests are fastened so
that each part is linked and a joint connects them to
the base. Just two parts (base, straight backrest and
curved backrest) enable numerous combinations to be
made. The backrest is also available with a cushion
which can be fastened to the structure to make it more
comfortable and more practical. All the cushions are
made using the new Soft Ware fabrics.
