HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Members of the Department are always training,
accumulating about 200 hours yearly per person. This entails
outside trainings through county and state agencies as well as in
house training. There are 30 active members, 9 Life members
and 6 Administrative members currently on the roster. The Life
members have always been the back bone of the Department
and are some of the original founding members. We are always
taking on new members that are willing to give their time to help
and serve their neighbor and fellow man. We provide training,
schooling and the ability to meet new people and make new friends along with the self satisfaction one will gain. We do all of
this without one cent of pay! Watch for our 2014 calendars that will be available this summer!
The next time you get a glass of water from your faucet, think about this. Most of our
drinking water comes from our rivers.
When the rain falls and the snow melts, the water runs of our roofs and yards, down into our streets and
roads. Anything in the path of this storm water goes straight down our storm drains. And right into our rivers.
Trash. Paint. Oil. Fertilizers. Animal waste. All of it is flushed into the same rivers we get our drinking water
from.
But there are solutions. Dedicated people and municipalities are working on it right now. And you can
help.
Properly dispose of harmful chemicals, paints and motor oils instead of pouring them
down storm drains. Replace chemical fertilizers with organic ones and use them
sparingly to reduce harmful runoff. Don’t put animal waste into storm drains.
Building, 1700 Clark Blvd., Hopewell Township, PA when and
emergency situation requires it.
• The Emergency Management Organization Staff will follow prescribed
standard operating procedures (SOPs) which describe in detail how
their functions are carried out and utilize checklists as necessary.
• Any decision to implement protective actions will be made by Township
