do all of <strong>the</strong>se. We will meet Mondays at lunch <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> art room to do <strong>in</strong>dividual and/or group<br />
projects. Students can work on <strong>the</strong>ir own projects and ideas or work on <strong>the</strong> projects provided. If<br />

In <strong>the</strong> ASL <strong>Club</strong> students will learn basic American Sign Language (ASL). They will be able to<br />

Dave Tomatis Do you like old movies? Come watch and discuss classic American films from all genres dat<strong>in</strong>g<br />
from 1965 and before. Most of <strong>the</strong> films are black and white but we do mix <strong>in</strong> some color to keep<br />
it <strong>in</strong>terest<strong>in</strong>g. Br<strong>in</strong>g your lunch and enjoy classic American films.<br />

Girl Tech <strong>Club</strong> Maureen Willis Ladies, you are <strong>in</strong>vited to jo<strong>in</strong> a community of girls who enjoy work<strong>in</strong>g with computers or who<br />
want more time on computers. Youʼll have access to your own computer and all <strong>the</strong> software on<br />
<strong>the</strong> computer as well as a scanner, digital musical keyboard and color pr<strong>in</strong>ter. You can make<br />
music us<strong>in</strong>g Garageband, create digital makeovers, try out your digital draw<strong>in</strong>g skills with Adobe,<br />

The Green Team is an important organization on campus that is comprised of both students and<br />
staff members. Our job is to help <strong>JLS</strong> become a "greener" school -- we promote carpool<strong>in</strong>g,<br />
turn<strong>in</strong>g off lights and appliances, reduc<strong>in</strong>g, reus<strong>in</strong>g, recycl<strong>in</strong>g, and compost<strong>in</strong>g. We will plan<br />
activities for Earth Day <strong>2012</strong> and we may organize o<strong>the</strong>r events (such as garden<strong>in</strong>g activities or<br />
a beach clean-up day) depend<strong>in</strong>g on student <strong>in</strong>terest.<br />

work on <strong>the</strong>ir performance skills and also develop portfolios of <strong>the</strong>ir work to share with o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
<strong>the</strong>atre students across <strong>the</strong> state.<br />
Knowledge Bowl is a quiz contest with teams of four players compet<strong>in</strong>g. Questions are on a<br />
variety of subjects so grade level is not a factor. Quick recall is emphasized with a student<br />
hold<strong>in</strong>g up a paddle when wish<strong>in</strong>g to answer. At <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> year <strong>the</strong> team with <strong>the</strong> most w<strong>in</strong>s<br />
has <strong>the</strong> members names engraved on <strong>the</strong> Bowl <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> breeze-way display case.<br />

Kate Frankl<strong>in</strong> MathCounts is a club that works to prepare for <strong>the</strong> MathCounts competition <strong>in</strong> February.<br />
Students work on challeng<strong>in</strong>g and complex problems as <strong>the</strong>y get ready for <strong>the</strong> spr<strong>in</strong>t, target and<br />
team round of <strong>the</strong> competition. We look at many different areas of math <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g algebra,<br />
geometry, puzzles, and probability.<br />

should jo<strong>in</strong> Relax & Breath Yoga <strong>Club</strong>. It's open to all <strong>JLS</strong> students that want to practice yoga &<br />
learn relaxation techniques. We will learn yoga poses, learn how to sequence poses toge<strong>the</strong>r &<br />
<strong>the</strong> art of deep breath<strong>in</strong>g for relaxation.<br />
We will explore <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternal struggles of Shaggy and his food crav<strong>in</strong>gs, Fred's bizarre <strong>in</strong>fatuation<br />
with sett<strong>in</strong>g traps, Velma's <strong>in</strong>feriority complex, and Scooby's desire to always be human. Oh<br />
forget that. We will just watch cartoons.<br />
Soccer <strong>Club</strong> Arv<strong>in</strong>d Arya Get actively <strong>in</strong>volved with play<strong>in</strong>g soccer to promote teamwork, friendship, and sportsmanship.<br />

wrestl<strong>in</strong>g room. The club is designed to <strong>in</strong>troduce students to <strong>the</strong> sport of wrestl<strong>in</strong>g. Activities<br />
will <strong>in</strong>clude basic techniques, condition<strong>in</strong>g, film study and meditation. The club is open to boys<br />
and girls.<br />
Kim Lohse The writ<strong>in</strong>g club is a place for students to write fiction, poetry or any o<strong>the</strong>r genre and share this<br />
work with o<strong>the</strong>r writers. We can collect <strong>the</strong> work and publish a group anthology or <strong>in</strong>dividual<br />
anthology. We will also learn how to sew and make books.<br />
Students who enjoy do<strong>in</strong>g th<strong>in</strong>gs for o<strong>the</strong>r people and learn<strong>in</strong>g about people and cultures from<br />
o<strong>the</strong>r parts of <strong>the</strong> world should check out <strong>the</strong> YCS (Youth Community Service) club. <strong>Club</strong><br />
