facilities throughout the county. You will find we offer a wide<br />

assortment of amenities to better the lives of our residents.<br />

Our parks range in size from small neighborhood parks to our<br />

larger regional parks to suit the needs of the community.<br />

“Water Lilies on Lake Toho”<br />

Regional <strong>Parks</strong><br />

<strong>Osceola</strong> <strong>County</strong> Regional <strong>Parks</strong> offer something<br />

for everyone. Hiking, sports, leisure,<br />

swimming, and equestrian trails. Whether<br />

you are bathing on the beach at Ralph V.<br />

Chisholm Park or holding a soccer tourna-<br />

ment at our world-class Austin-Tindall Re-<br />

gional Park you will have plenty of varied<br />

activities to fill up your days.<br />

Austin-Tindall Regional Park and Soccer Complex (Boggy Creek Rd.)<br />

Austin-Tindall Regional Park and Soccer Complex is a world-class<br />

sport complex located on the northeast end of Kissimmee just<br />

minutes from Orlando. This premier soccer facility features nine soccer<br />

fields, a clubhouse with a meeting room and locker rooms, and<br />

a concession area with shaded seating. Austin-Tindall has the capability<br />

to host a wide variety of sports events from soccer to rugby,<br />

lacrosse and flag football.<br />

Mac Overstreet Regional Park (Future Park) (Pleasant Hill Rd.)<br />

Mac Overstreet Regional Park, located in South Kissimmee is a beautiful<br />

400 acre stretch of undeveloped land. Future plans include a boat<br />

ramp, picnic pavilions, restrooms and a hiking trail.<br />

Ralph V. Chisholm Regional Park (Narcoosee Rd.)<br />

Ralph V. Chisholm Regional Park, located on the northeast end of St.<br />

Cloud off Narcoossee Road (Hwy 15), boasts a beautiful waterfront<br />

setting. This scenic park is an ideal spot to picnic or hold a family<br />

party utilizing one of the many pavilions of varying size. This park<br />

also hosts the annual Battle of Narcoossee Mill Civil War<br />

re-enactment. Other amenities include electricity, ball field and a volleyball<br />

area, beach area, boat ramps and approximately two miles of<br />

hiking and equestrian trails.<br />

Community <strong>Parks</strong><br />

Softball, Soccer, Baseball or Tennis, you will find your activity available in the community parks throughout the county. The BVL Community<br />

Park offers well-maintained baseball fields devoted to local usage. Archie Gordon Memorial Park has a walking path perfect for keeping<br />

in shape along with soccer and football fields. The majority of the community parks have playgrounds and covered pavilions. The<br />

community centers around the <strong>County</strong> offer a wide variety of amenities to county residents such as the Robert Guevara Community Center,<br />

where you can take Salsa Dance classes or Karate lessons. The majorities of the centers offer activities for seniors and can be rented<br />

Archie Gordon Memorial Park (Buenaventura Lakes)<br />

Located in the highly populated Buenaventura neighborhood,<br />

on Buenaventura Boulevard, this park is well used by community<br />

members and local soccer and football leagues. The walking path<br />

is a wonderful resource for staying fit and the playground area is<br />

perfect for families out for a fun day. Other amenities include restrooms,<br />

concession stand and parking.<br />

Buenaventura Lakes Community Park (Buenaventura Lakes)<br />

Located in the very popular Buenaventura Lakes Community<br />

alongside the Archie Gordon Memorial Park. Buenaventura Little<br />

League calls the ball fields home. This well maintained park includes<br />

two little league fields, a t-ball field, and a senior field. Facilities also<br />

include a concession stand, restrooms and parking.<br />

Deerwood Community Park (Poinciana)<br />

Deerwood Community Park is located off Laurel Avenue in Poinciana<br />

and is operated by the Association of Poinciana Villages. This<br />

facility offers basketball courts and both baseball and soccer fields.<br />

Future plans include development of a cricket field.<br />

Hickory Tree Community Park (Under Renovation) (St. Cloud)<br />

Hickory Tree Community Park is located east<br />

of St. Cloud. This facility offers<br />

four practice fields, a concession<br />

stand and restrooms. Future<br />

park renovations include the<br />

renovation of existing football<br />

fields to multipurpose turf fields,<br />

new parking, playground, picnic<br />

pavilion and permiter walking trail<br />

around the park.<br />

Anytime you are looking to enjoy the outdoors with your family our<br />

local parks are just a hop, skip and a jump away. Located all<br />

throughout the county, our neighborhood parks have shaded areas<br />

and pavilions and well-maintained, safe playground equipment. For<br />

Located south of St. Cloud off of Canoe Creek Road and adjacent<br />

to the new Kenansville Fire Station, this center offers lunch and activities<br />

for seniors and also acts as a hurricane shelter. The volunteer<br />

community staff plan an annual festival every March and are<br />

currently working to restore the old, historic schoolhouse. The center<br />

serves as a good location for the rural community to hold family<br />

reunions, special events or community functions. Future plans<br />

include a playground, improved parking and entranceway.<br />

15 Marydia Neighborhood Park (Kissimmee)<br />

16 Partin Triangle Neighborhood Park (St. Cloud)<br />

Partin Triangle Park located off Neptune Road between<br />

Kissimmee and St. Cloud is a trail head for the Neptune Recreational<br />

Pathway. Shaded by trees is a new playground/picnic area<br />

and pavilion. This park also features tennis and racquetball courts<br />

and a boat ramp with access to East LakeTohopekaliga.<br />

Robert Guevara Community Center and Neighborhood Park<br />

Located right in the center of the Buenaventura Lakes Community,<br />

the center offers services and recreation to seniors, salsa<br />

classes and karate. It is a great location to hold a party, wedding or<br />

event. The park features lighted Basketball fields and Bocci Ball<br />

Whether you are looking for hiking, horseback<br />

riding or nature viewing look no further<br />

than <strong>Osceola</strong> <strong>County</strong>’s Nature<br />

Preserves. Lake Lizzie Nature Preserve, for<br />

example, offers primitive trails through a<br />

variety of habitats leading to the shores of<br />

Loop. Equestrian users must use the Old Melbourne Highway entrance<br />

Loop Trail”<br />

<strong>Osceola</strong> <strong>County</strong> offers 20 miles of paved walking path located on<br />

Neptune and Pleasant Hill Roads and about 40 miles of natural surface<br />

trails. Trails provide recreation, transportation, fitness, and<br />

economic benefits for all to enjoy.<br />

44 Neptune Road Recreational Pathway<br />

The Neptune Road Pathway begins at the Kissimmee Lakefront<br />

at Lakeshore Drive and Ruby Street and continues on to the St.<br />

Cloud Lakefront at Lakeshore and Mississippi.<br />

45 Pleasant Hill Road Recreational Pathway<br />

The Pleasant Hill Road Pathway begins on Pleasant Hill Road<br />

and South Orange Blossom Trail and continues into Poinciana and<br />

ends at Cypress and Marigold.

<strong>Osceola</strong> <strong>County</strong> operates several world-class sports facilities that<br />

host a variety of sporting events and tournaments. Teams come<br />

from all over the world to hold tournaments and events at our premier<br />

Central Florida locations. The <strong>Osceola</strong> <strong>County</strong> Stadium, home<br />

to the 2005 National League Baseball Champion Houston Astros,<br />

hosts Spring Training each March. The Austin-Tindall Regional Park<br />

and Soccer Complex holds a variety of turf events including Disney’s<br />

Soccer Showcase. The <strong>Osceola</strong> Softball Complex is one of the<br />

top softball facilities in the country winning many facility awards<br />

over the years and is home to the Spring Rebel Games Tournament.<br />

The <strong>Osceola</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Parks</strong> and Recreation Department is also in<br />

partnership with the <strong>Osceola</strong> School District. This partnership allows<br />

local youth leagues to utilize school fields for practices and<br />

games after school hours.<br />

<strong>Osceola</strong> <strong>County</strong> Softball Complex, located just minutes from Orlando<br />

International Airport, sets the standard for such facilities<br />

around the country. The complex was the official Eastern training facility<br />

for the 2000 Olympic Gold Medal USA Women’s Softball team,<br />

is home of the renowned Rebel Spring Games and recipients of the<br />

2005 National Complex of the Year Award.<br />

The <strong>Osceola</strong> <strong>County</strong> Stadium delivers the ideal combination of excitement,<br />

convenience and superb facilities. The complex recently<br />

underwent an $18.4-million renovation improving comfort and<br />

adding state-of-the-art amenities. Truly a major league operation,<br />

this facility hosts the National League Houston Astros for spring<br />

training. The Stadium is also host for a number of baseball tournaments,<br />

clinics, and other events. Situated in the heart of the Kissimmee<br />

area, the Stadium is easily accessible by major traffic arteries<br />

and is convenient to the Walt Disney World Resort and other area<br />
