deposited in the archives of the Government of the United<br />

States of America, which shall transmit certified copies to<br />

all Governments whose membership is in accordance with<br />

Article 1, Section 2."<br />

7 A treaty should contain a preamble, setting forth the names<br />

of the parties,.the*reasons for its~~signature, the names and titles<br />

of the*plenipotentiarie?J»and the fact that they have produced<br />

their ^authority and that both sides are satisfied therewith. It<br />

continues with the text of the actual agreement, including if<br />

necessary provision Tor ratification by the home authorities of<br />

the signatories and the clause "In witness the respective plenipotentiaries<br />

have affixed their signatures and s^als." At the<br />

bottom of every treaty appears the place of signature and date.<br />
