I/O 9/8
module
I/O 9/8MD HS
The I/O 9/8 module is a
component used for controlling
elevators, turnstiles and
revolving door stops etc. in
more complex access control
environments.
Its current status is relayed
by the nine digital inputs
and eight relays – each with
a change-over contact – to
the superordinate control
unit (ACT e.g. B6L, M6L,
TC16) which evaluates this
and then controls the electrical
function units.
An I/O 9/8 module can also
bundle the signals of several
doors e.g. door opening push
buttons or door open messages
and transmit the control
signals for door opening
to the doors. This considerably
reduces the number
of separate door modules
and the amount of wiring required.
An I/O 9/8 module can
also be used for doors that
need to be controlled in remote
premises. Up to eight
doors can be opened using
straightforward access control,
and three to four doors
in the case of more complex
monitoring requirements
such as door status messages,
internal push button and
local alarm. Communication
between the I/O 9/8 module
and the control centre is via
RS485 and the DP1 protocol
and can bridge a distance of
up to 6,000 metres.
The I/O 9/8 module is available
in two styles: the wall
version can be surfacemounted
on the wall or, for
example, inconspicuously in
a false ceiling. The I/O 9/8
top-hat module is designed
for snap mounting on standardised
top-hat rails and can
thus be conveniently integrated
into switchgear assemblies.
