represent the closing stages <strong>of</strong> a tectono-magmatic event in<br />

Pal ghat Gap, presumably related to isothermal depression<br />

during crustal uplift associated with the retrogressive<br />

event. This inturn would suggest that the tectonic framework<br />

for the formation <strong>of</strong> the Palghat Gap was<br />
