Call for Papers
Theme Issue on
Science and Engineering at the Nanoscale
The Editorial Board of the Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering (AJSE) plans to publish in June 2009, an
issue which contains the latest developments in "Science and Engineering at the Nanoscale". The aim is to produce a
collection of papers on the subject from diverse disciplines and areas of interest, including:
• Nanoparticles (Synthesis, functionalization, magnetism, chemical, and physical properties; Applications: catalysis,
sensors…)
• Nanotubes and Nanowires (Synthesis and purification, functionalized carbon nanotubes; properties: sensing,
mechanical, electronic, and optical, chemical modification and tailoring of nanotubes; additives: fuel additives,
lubricants, water purification, composite nanomaterials).
• Nanostructured Films (Deposition techniques and properties; applications: coatings, gas sensing, biosensors,
nanostructured films for solar cells, fuel-cells).
• Nano Engineering (Nanofabrication, deep submicron and nano-scaled devices, nanoelectronic technology,
nano/micro engineered and molecular systems, supramolecular systems for optoelectronic applications: OLED,
OTFT, photovoltaic cells, organic lasers, sensors, switches, computer aided design for nanotechnology era:
modeling and simulation; micro- and nano-mechanical systems: MEMS and NEMS).
• Nanobiotechnoy and Nanomedicine (Health and safety, toxicity of nanomaterials, drug delivery, enhanced
bioimaging).

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
Submissions are accepted for review on the understanding that
they have not been published or submitted elsewhere. All
manuscripts will undergo a strict refereeing process; acceptance
for publication is based on two positive reviews.
Manuscripts prepared using MS Word or LaTeX are strongly
preferred. Authors should submit their papers electronically - in
Word or PDF format as an email attachment - to:

AJSE-Mathematics
CALL FOR PAPERS
The Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering (AJSE), a peer-reviewed research
journal published since 1975 by King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (Saudi
Arabia), is launching a new periodical “AJSE-Mathematics” as a part of its strategy to
create more focused AJSE-journals.
AJSE-Mathematics will be launched in March 2009 and will publish carefully refereed
research papers in all areas of Mathematics. Solicited articles of a survey or review nature
may also be included. Submitted manuscripts should be well-written, original and of interest
to a wide readership.
Manuscripts will be considered for publication only if they have not been published
previously and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The submissions
should be made online or by e-mail to ajse-mathematics@kfupm.edu.sa after March 1,
2009.
