1. ADVANCED PROGRAMS<br />
LACC’s Honors Transfer Program is a concentrated set of<br />
classes allowing participants to advance to 4-year colleges<br />
as juniors and receive priority admissions consideration to<br />
major universities including UCLA. Other programs of interest<br />
include LACC’s nationally recognized Math and Debate<br />
teams.<br />
2. TRADITIONAL CAREER & TRANSFER PROGRAMS<br />
Complete the first half of your BA degree or prepare for a highpaying<br />
career in as little as two years.Even part-time students<br />
can complete transfer and career programs by attending<br />

TRANSFER Most universities and majors require you to complete a set of general education” classes or<br />
“GEs.” <strong>At</strong> LACC, you can complete your GEs at a tremendous savings and at a pace<br />
appropriate for you. Students interested in focused or accelerated programs can sign-up for the<br />
Honors Program or Fast Track Transfer.<br />
Students who want to design their own program can work with a counselor, and/or the school<br />
catalog and class schedule to select an academic plan that works for them. EOP&S is also available<br />
to assist low income and non-traditional students through priority registration, counseling,<br />
workshops, feild-trips and more.<br />

208B Accelerated Program for<br />
Transfer (APFT) is a part-time,<br />
accelerated program designed to<br />
meet the needs of working<br />
adults. APFT students attend<br />
classes in the evening one night<br />
per week, and approximately every other Saturday. The program<br />
takes 2.5 years or less. Study options include Business and<br />
Teachers Preparation programs.<br />

For thousands of dollars less than you’d pay at private career<br />
colleges, you can receive outstanding training for high paying<br />
careers in health care, technology, entertainment, child development,<br />
law enforcement, business, graphics and more. Several of our<br />
programs have been recognized for outstanding curriculum design.<br />
The LACC Dental Technology program is one of only two accredited<br />
public programs in Southern California. Child Development now offers<br />
students the opportunity to complete their AA and part of their BA<br />
program all at LACC. The last year is completed at CSULA. The Theater<br />
and Cinema program have remarkable track records of getting students<br />
to work in the entertainment industry. Photography and art/graphics<br />
are taught by professionals with years of real-world professional<br />
experience. Many continue to work and exhibit in the private sector.<br />
And,100% of the Radiologic Technology graduating classes consistently<br />
pass their professional exams.<br />

Most LACC certificate and degree programs can be completed<br />
in 2 years or less for full-time students. Certificate programs<br />
may be completed in as few as 6 months to a year (see list to<br />

benefits when they transfer to participating fouryear colleges and universities. Benefits include<br />
priority admission, scholarships, guaranteed housing, and admission into honors programs. While<br />
at LACC, the students may benefit from library privileges, campus visits, and cultural events.<br />

LEADERSHIP The Associated Student Organization (ASO) and the clubs under its umbrella offer the opportunity<br />
to be active and take leadership roles on campus.<br />
FINANCIAL AID Fee waivers, grants, scholarships and low interest loans are available to US residents to<br />
assist with tuition, books and living expenses. Students of any age, full or part-time, dependent or independent<br />
may be eligible.<br />
LOW-INCOME STUDENTS EOP&S, TRIO, CalWORKs and Workforce offer services including priority<br />
registration, counseling, financial aid, skills/information workshops, special courses, and cultural activities/field<br />
trips for students pursuing university transfer or career training goals.<br />
STUDENTS WITH CHILDREN The Campus Child Development Center<br />
offers a preschool program for children age 3 to 5. There is also an evening program for children age 5 to 10.<br />
Low income single parents may be eligible for special academic and financial support including meals and gas<br />
subsidies through CARE.<br />
HEALTH SERVICES All enrolled students are eligible for basic primary and non-emergency care and referrals<br />
through the LACC Health Center. Services include family planning, emotional counseling, and select laboratory<br />
tests and immunizations.<br />
GENERAL ACADEMIC COUNSELING & STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS Experienced LACC counselors can help you figure out where<br />
you want to go and plan the academic path to get you there. Our Office of Special Services provides similar services for students with physical or<br />
learning disabilities as well as arranging for special accommodations in and out of the classroom.<br />
