Days 1-2: Depart USA
Fly over the International Date
Line on your way to Auckland,
New Zealand.
Day 3: Arrive Auckland
Check into the Mercure Hotel
& spend the rest of the day
exploring Auckland. Hotel
Day 4: Auckland to Waitomo
Meet up with your Contiki Team
& travel buddies & set out for
Waitomo. On the way, see NZ’s
iconic bird at a Kiwi House before
we reach Waitomo. Get into the
adrenalin cave activities here
before a BBQ dinner or roast

House & Nature Park

Day 5: Waitomo to Rotorua
In Rotorua, we’ll show you
the sights then visit a farm
show, where you could even
try shearing a sheep! Tonight,
experience a traditional Maori
Hangi & dance performance.

Day 6: Rotorua Get an indepth

Day 7: Rotorua to Lake Taupo

Day 8: Lake Taupo to
Wellington Check out the
landscapes along the Desert
Road en route to the capital,
Wellington, where we’ll show
you the city sights. Then tonight

• Orientation tour of Wellington

Day 9: Wellington Chill your
way today. Hit the shops along
Lambton Quay or Cuba Street
Mall. With some of the country’s
best coffee, taking a break with

Day 10: Wellington to
Hanmer Springs Grab
your camera as we cruise the
Marlborough Sounds, before
Hanmer via Kaikoura. Hanmer
Springs’ hotpools are legendary
– so a night at the pools is a

Kaikoura

Day 11: Hanmer Springs
to Franz Josef Glacier via
Christchurch Drive through
the Southern Alps, before our
stop in Hokitika to learn about
NZ’s native greenstone & how
it’s carved. Later, we’ll arrive in
NZ’s iconic glacial spot, Franz

to Queenstown Today we
head through Haast Pass &
Thunder Creek Falls. Visit lakeside

Day 14: Queenstown Take a
ride on the Shotover Jet, then
get into the Queenstown vibes.
The nightlife here is awesome
& we’ll take you to our favorite

Days 15-16: Queenstown
From bungee jumps, canyon

Dunedin, where we’ll try the
famous beer on a guided tour

Ohau See the world’s steepest
street, then it’s onto Moeraki
to see the huge beach boulders.
