SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING<br />

Minutes of the Special General Meeting of the Newtown Residents’ Association held on Monday<br />

16 th July 2012 at 7.30pm Newtown Hall, Daniell St.<br />

Present: Steve Dunn, Greg Nicholls, Peter Frater, Laura Newcombe, Dave Smythe, Bernie Harris,<br />

Tom Law, Kate Zwartz, Cheryl Robilliard, Gail Reeves, Kevin Lethbridge.<br />

Financial Statements for the Year Ended 30 June 2011<br />

The Financial Accounts that were audited by Noel Sulzberger, were previously circulated with the agenda<br />

and presented by the treasurer, Peter Frater. It was noted that the bulk of the transactions<br />

resulted from the Festival.<br />

Moved that the audited accounts as presented, be accepted Frater / Law: Approved unanimously.<br />

Noel Sulzberger has agreed to be auditor for next year.<br />

Moved that Noel Sulzberger be appointed as the NRA auditor Moved: Frater / Dunn. Approved<br />

unanimously.<br />

A special vote of thanks to Peter for his long and hard work as treasurer was moved by Tom (seconded<br />

Zwartz) and the meeting fully endorsed.<br />

Bernie pointed out that the 2011 accounts were meant to be presented at least 3 months from an AGM.<br />

but it was noted that the NRA had difficulty getting an auditor and that this was a Special<br />

General Meeting to approve the accounts now that they were audited.<br />

Greg Nicholls, who is a chartered accountant, offered to be the next treasurer. (Next AGM is the 3 rd<br />

Monday in September)<br />

The Special General Meeting was closed and the monthly meeting declared open.<br />

Minutes: Minutes of Monday June 18 th meeting were approved. Law /Zwartz<br />

Parking Resolutions<br />

Proposal for Mobility Parks in Newtown Ave(TR49-12), Constable Street (TR48-12), Normanby Street<br />

(TR50-12)be standardized, was agreed by the meeting.<br />

Proposal for time limited P120 Monday to Friday 8am- 6pm, except for persons displaying an authorized<br />

residents vehicle parking permit (TR54-12) was agreed in principle provided the road markings did<br />

not include vehicle crossings to houses. (It was later confirmed post meeting that the road<br />

markings will be as currently in place.<br />

Proposal for Adelaide Road loading zone, residents parking and time restricted (TR45-12) was intended to<br />

formally record earlier discussion for parking outside Tip Top but currently there is a 30min<br />

parking time limit outside Tip Top, which the local retailers support. Gail Reeves to discuss<br />

further with Stuart Bullen (unlikely to progress further)<br />

Greater Wellington Public Transport Fare System<br />

The GWRC is currently reviewing transport fare structure, fare products and fare concessions (Fare levels<br />

and ticketing system will be a separate process)<br />
