About the Singapore International Arbitration Academy…
The Singapore International Arbitration Academy was jointly established by the Centre for International Law (CIL) and the
Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore (NUS), to become Asia’s premier arbitration training programme. Enrolment in
CIL’s acclaimed annual Singapore International Investment Arbitration Conference, held during the third week of the
Academy, is included in the Academy programme.
Who Should Attend?
The Academy is targeted at private practitioners, in-house counsel and government officials who deal with international
disputes and want to develop their arbitration knowledge and skills.
Why Attend?
The Academy combines theory, skills training, and lectures on key issues of arbitral law and practice including Investor to State
and State to State arbitration.
Academy Faculty
Leading practitioners, arbitrators and public officials, including The Right Hon. the Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, K.G.,
President of the Supreme Court of the U.K. and the Attorney General of Singapore, Mr Sundaresh Menon, S.C., will be on the
Faculty to share their expertise and insights. See inside the brochure for a full list of the Academy’s Faculty.
Focused on Excellence
The Academy is practice-oriented. It will focus on the relationship between external counsel and the users of international
arbitration as well as the relationship between counsel and the tribunal. Sophisticated users of international arbitration will
discuss their expectations of counsel. Experienced arbitrators will discuss what they want and expect from counsel.
The Academy will be rigorous but rewarding and it requires a 3-week time commitment.
