Fun fact:<br />

“I fell in love with Zumba! Working 70 hours<br />

a week this summer was very stressful, but<br />

taking <strong>the</strong> time to be physically, mentally and<br />

spiritually strong allowed me to keep pushing.”<br />

Alina Haddad<br />

Awarded Boren Fellowship to study Arabic for a year<br />

in Jordan, researching how microfinance has<br />

affected women’s political attitudes.<br />

Future ambition:<br />

“To work for <strong>the</strong> United States Agency for International<br />

Development’s Gender Sector for <strong>the</strong> Middle East.”<br />

Fun fact:<br />

“At 24 years old, I FINALLY got my driver’s license<br />

this summer!”<br />

Lianne Messina<br />

Elementary and Special Education<br />

Accomplishment:<br />

Winner of <strong>the</strong> New Jersey Distinguished<br />

Student Teacher Award for work as a third grade<br />

student teacher at Park Avenue School in Orange.<br />

Now teaching first grade at <strong>the</strong> school.<br />

Claim to fame/special skill:<br />

“I was very dedicated to community service as a member<br />

of Alpha Phi Omega, <strong>the</strong> national service fraternity, at<br />

<strong>Seton</strong> <strong>Hall</strong>. I started a community service program at<br />

Park Avenue School for grades 3-7 so <strong>the</strong>y can participate<br />

in giving back to <strong>the</strong> community as well.”<br />

Future ambition:<br />

“After earning a master’s degree in English as<br />

a Second Language and a certificate in Administration<br />

and Supervision, I hope to become a principal.”<br />

Fun fact:<br />

“I love anything Paris! Eiffel Tower décor and Paris<br />

photography fills my room! I still have yet to visit,<br />

but I hope to one day soon!”
