Welcome to issue 135 of HANDBRAKES &
HAIRPINS, your FREE weekly insight into
the world of rallying!
After a whirlwind weekend in Faro,
Portugal, HANDBRAKES & HAIRPINS’
gifted photojournalist has returned aweinspiring
photography from the WRC
Vodafone Rallye de Portugal. Our WRC
Media Accreditation pass allowed this
roving reporter to snap these fantastic
photographs not only of the mighty WRC
machines but of the goings-on at a WRC
event. You can read the full WRC Vodafone
Rallye de Portugal report on Pages 11
- 13, as well as drool over the action
photographs.
As editor, I would like to thank Eva
Kovkova for her outstanding work and
many of you will most certainly agree.
The Rally of South Africa,
round four of the South African Rally
Championship, produced many thrills and
spills for the competitors. A high rate of
attrition saw the fi eld whittled down to
only the bravest and strongest, and it
also brought the smallest winning margin
in South African rallying history. More on
Page 18.
