<strong>Goalball</strong>/<strong>Enrichment</strong><br />
The Goal Ball/<br />
E n r i c h m e n t<br />
weekends at MSDB are<br />
designed to provide blind<br />
and low vision students from around <strong>Montana</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> opportunity to explore and develop skills<br />
necessary to meet <strong>the</strong>ir unique needs. Yet, sport<br />
is not <strong>the</strong> only area that is explored during <strong>the</strong><br />
Goal Ball/<strong>Enrichment</strong> weekend. Children with<br />
vision problems may also need assistance in<br />
learning to move from place to place safely or in<br />
accessing in<strong>for</strong>mation presented visually in <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
classrooms. Braille literacy, orientation and<br />
mobility, media assessments, and technology<br />
are all areas which can be incorporated<br />
into a goal ball enrichment weekend.<br />
Each child is an individual with<br />
unique needs. Because of<br />
this each weekend is tailored to address<br />
<strong>the</strong> specific needs of those attending. It is<br />
critical to <strong>the</strong> success of <strong>the</strong> weekend that we<br />
know your concerns and interests. Please<br />
fill in <strong>the</strong> response <strong>for</strong>m in this brochure<br />
and return it to MSDB. You may also<br />
provide in<strong>for</strong>mation to us through your<br />
Outreach consultant or by phoning or emailing<br />

Don’t Miss <strong>the</strong> VI Games<br />
also have <strong>the</strong> opportunity to<br />
examine and use equipment and materials<br />
in <strong>the</strong> Visually Impaired Department at<br />
MSDB. All Goal Ball/<strong>Enrichment</strong> activities<br />
take place on <strong>the</strong> MSDB campus. A limited<br />
amount of Cottage space <strong>for</strong> housing families<br />
attending <strong>the</strong> weekend is available. If you<br />
are interested in staying on campus please<br />
let us know 2 weeks be<strong>for</strong>e <strong>the</strong> weekend.<br />
