wine in which battle his brother Samuel was wounded. Br June 30, 1752, Kent Co,<br />

Md. Mar Priscilla Barnes, widow of Jonathan Rees. Children : 1st died in infancy,<br />

on the old Conway farm, about four<br />

miles from Scio, Harrison Co, O. Grave on the edge of a field, under an elm<br />

tree, by his brother Michael and wife. A minister in the M. E. Church as was his<br />

brother, Samuel. He was a close friend of and co-worker with Bishop Asbury, who<br />

in 1788 appointed him to the village of Pittsburgh, Pa. where he spent seven yrs as<br />

preacher and presiding elder. He applied for a pens in 1834. His claim was allowed.<br />

Susanna, Elizabeth. D at an advanced age in Harrison Co prior to 1847. Bur<br />

on a farm near Scio, O, once owned by Moses Conaway, in a field by his wife and<br />

brother, Rev Charles Conaway, also a Revolutionary soldier. None of these graves<br />

on his old farm on the Scioto Trail, south of Chillicothe and about three miles<br />

north of the Pike Co line. At the age of 22, when he enlisted, was a farmer, five<br />

feet four inches. Was in battle of Short Hills, Chemung and Elizabethtown. Allowed<br />
