societies is leading to increase IT device/systems<br />

power consumption rapidly.<br />

Effective use of IT (Green IT) greatly helps<br />

reducing society’s energy consumption: 2% vs 98%<br />

Background of Green IT<br />

Data traffic on the Internet will be 100 to 200 times<br />

greater in 2025. IT power consumption is estimated<br />

to grow 5-10 fold in 2025 than that of today.<br />

IT and electronics technologies is expected to<br />

generate greater productivity in all economic and<br />

social activities, boosting efficiency in production,<br />

logistics, administration and even IT use itself.


Why Green IT should be accelerated<br />

in Thailand<br />

1. Thailand is already a world production and<br />

service center, being expected to sustain.<br />

growth into the future by using Green IT.<br />

2. Green IT will reduce cost!<br />

(= strengthen competitiveness of industries)<br />

3. Green IT resolves global warming as a key<br />

challenge.
