Due to the growing scarcity of marine ressources caused by overfishing, ecolabels are
more and more numerous. They are active in sustainable fishing policy.
• MSC: Marine Stewardship Council (private label)
MSC aims at improving the health of world oceans and helping the
creation of an international market for sustainable products.
The MSC environmental reference is the only ecological principles set which is
internationally recognised and evaluate if fisheries are sustainable and respect
environment.
• FOS: Friend Of the Sea
Worlwide certification organization for marine products and sustainable fisheries. Marine
products from different continent including Omega 3 fish oils. This label essentially
garantees fishing technics.
