PAHM opens renewed capital campaign
On Tuesday, April 10, at
the Carranor Hunt and Polo
Club, the Perrysburg Area
Historic Museum held a
briefing for the men and
women who volunteered to
be solicitors to call on potential
fund-raisers to finalize
the completion of the
1823 Aurora Spafford’s
house into a museum.
The goal is to raise at
least $150,000 to complete
the inside and outside of the
house, driveway, parking
area, porches, handicapped
ramps and landscaping, all
part of Phase One.
Phase Two would be the
erection of a barn to house
police and fire memorabilia,
a small meeting room and
artifacts associated with running
a farm in the early days
of the community.
Phase Three is the building
of an annex to the house
to display artifacts, including
clothing, associated with

HOMEOWNER’S BRUSH MUST BE AT THE CURB
PREPARE:
◆ This year the “out by date” is Monday, April 9, at 7
a.m.
◆ All brush must be placed at the curb, not in the alley.
◆ Pile brush with cut ends to the street.
◆ Do not tie into bundles—stack loosely because brush
is chipped curbside.
◆ Place small clippings and twigs in garbage cans so
they can be dumped directly into the chipper.
◆ City crews will take branches, bushes, logs, stumps,
firewood and Christmas trees.
◆ Crews will begin on the east side of town this year
and work their way west. Once crews have been down
your street, they will not return. A supervisor will check
daily to make sure all brush piles were picked up.
AVOID:
◆ Brush pick up is not a yard waste or large item pick
up. Please do not place anything but brush to the
curb. Information on yard waste or large item pick up
is available by calling the Department of Public Service
at 419-872-8020, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.
to 3:30 p.m. or check the city Web site at www.ci.
perrysburg.oh.us.
◆ If other items such as ornamental grasses, weeds, sod
or leaves are mixed with the brush pile, everything
will be left and the homeowner will be responsible
for removal of all items.
◆ Metal, stones and other debris may damage equipment
or injure workers.
WOOD CHIPS DELIVERED:
◆ Wood chips are available to city residents and delivery
is free and available only within City limits. The
wood chips are rough cut—as we chip the brush
curbside and get a full load, we bring it directly to
your home and dump it. Many pieces are big and are
used mostly for fill-in areas. It is not “pretty” to use
as a finish to your landscape. Loads are approximately
12 to 18 cubic yards. No partial loads are deliv-

Sound of Music” auditions
on Saturday, April 28.
Jeff Duke and Michael
Querio, of the Rocky
Mountain Repertory Theatre
(RMRT) in Denver,
Colorado, will judge and
cast the Von Trapp children
as well as the children’s
chorus for the production.
Mr. Querio is artistic director
for RMRT, and has
directed and musical directed
more than 50 productions
throughout his
career.
He has played an integral
role in leading the
award-winning RMRT into
their new state-of-the-art
theater complex. He has
been active as a director,
conductor, singer, arranger
and pianist.
Mr. Querio holds degrees
from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
and Illinois Wesleyan
University, and is currently
on the faculty of the North
Shore Country Day School
in Winnetka, Illinois.
Mr. Duke is a Chicagobased
director, choreographer,
producer and
performer. He has directed
and cast for eight seasons
and more than 25 musicals
at RMRT. He was honored
with a Denver Post Ovation
Award for his work on the
musical “All Shook Up”
and has received critical acclaim
for his productions of
Jeff Duke
“Beauty and the Beast,”
“42nd Street” and “Chess.”
He conceived, produced
and directed the critically
acclaimed live concerts and

Divas-Woman of Chicago

◆ A small area on the outside of the locked gate at the
City Compost Site near the Wastewater Treatment
Plant at 1 West Boundary Street will stockpile wood
mulch that is available at no charge to City residents
throughout the year. This mulch stockpile has been
double-ground into wood mulch and is used as a finishing
touch for your landscaping needs. We do not
load or deliver this double ground wood mulch.

◆ Available all year round to City residents only—no
commercial use.
◆ Weekdays—Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3
p.m., you must stop at the Department of Public Service,
11980 Roachton Road, first to get a key to
unlock the gate. At that time, we will inspect the load
and give you directions to the site.
◆ Saturdays—the second and fourth Saturday of the
month (January through December) from 8 a.m. to
noon, you proceed directly to the site and a city
employee will be at the gate checking your load. You
must be pre-registered to use the site on Saturdays.
