Objective: The student will be able to use the elements of art (form/value) and the<br />
principles of design (emphasis) to draw from observation a Single object as a still life.<br />
(VA.A.1.4)<br />
Target Skills: 1) Value/ Form/ (pencil and Charcoal)<br />
2) Observational, Emphasis, Contrast, detail…<br />

Do Now: 1) Why is observation an important factor when drawing?<br />
2) Read page 69 chapter 4 Studio experience Still life <strong>Drawing</strong> page 86<br />
3) Feed back on drawings<br />
Activities: Monday & Tuesday<br />
1) Intro to <strong>AP</strong> art and syllabus<br />
2) Art 2-D Students will use basic shapes to create a value study<br />
3) LAB FEE DUE THIS WEEK. F for no lab fee A for<br />
lab fee.<br />
Wednesday & Thursday<br />
1) Observational drawing of an object from the room<br />
2) Students drawing must demonstrate observational skills, emphasis,<br />
contrast, and composition (crop image).<br />
3) Students will work in a series of three.<br />
Friday<br />
• Studio work (Value/Form) (1hour minutes)<br />
• Homework still life drawing of three objects.<br />
Accommodations: Allow more time for studio, demonstrate directions and new<br />
information out loud, pairing, and work with students individually.<br />
Homework:
1) Draw for thirty minutes tonight. (M&T)<br />
Practice drawing single objects geometric or organic and experiment with line<br />
value.<br />
2) Draw for thirty minutes tonight. (W&TH) Practice drawing single objects<br />
geometric or organicand experiment with line value.<br />
