<strong>UEIL</strong> <strong>HEALTH</strong> <strong>AND</strong> <strong>ENVIRONMENT</strong> <strong>COMMITTEE</strong> <strong>MEMBERS</strong><br />

The Health and Environment Committee has been created to provide <strong>UEIL</strong> members with information<br />

with respect to the key Health, Safety and Environmental issues related to the Lubricants Industry<br />

within Europe. In order to provide this information and to offer regular updates the Committee<br />

meets for a minimum of three meetings per year and offers an annual report at the <strong>UEIL</strong> General<br />

Assembly.<br />

Marco Banfi Currently Technical Director for LUBRA spa,<br />

industrial lubrication specialist, based near<br />

Milan, Italy<br />

Marco is involved in industrial lubrication for<br />

over 30 years, and joined Lubra in 1986.<br />

He is Coordinator of Technical Group of GAIL,<br />

the Association of Italian Industrial<br />

Lubrication Companies, and member of<br />

Economic and Technical Committee of SSOG,<br />

Laetitia Chauvy Chemical and Process Engineer (Institute of<br />

industrial chemical and physics of LYON-<br />

FRANCE)- Environment option<br />

Laetitia joined Condat in 1996 and since 2004,<br />

she is Products Regulatory Affairs Engineer<br />

for all Condat's lubricants. In this position, she<br />

is in charge of the Biocide Directive and of the<br />

REACH compliance .<br />

Prior to that, she held the following positions<br />

within Condat:<br />

1996-2003: Laboratory Research Assistant for<br />

the development of metal working fluids<br />

2003-2004: Chemical Process Engineer<br />

Tony Jones Lubrizol UK<br />

Tony has been involved in both technical and<br />

sales roles within the Metalworking fluids<br />

industry for over 30 years.<br />

Currently performing a sales and technology<br />

role at Lubrizol Industrial Additives based in<br />

Hazelwood UK.<br />

Tony sits on the UKLA MWF Product<br />

Stewardship Group and is currently the group<br />

treasurer.<br />

Daniele Kleinmann Rhenus Lub GmbH & Co KG,<br />

Mönchengladbach.<br />

Daniele is currently manager technical<br />

support and product manager for deforming<br />

products. Daniele has been working in the<br />

lubrication field for approx. 15 years with<br />

experiences in the laboratory, sales, technical<br />

support and product management.<br />

Daniele is a Chemical Engineer of University<br />

Applied Science/Aachen


Edwin Leber After an apprenticeship as chemical assistant<br />

Edwin graduated a study and got a degree in<br />

chemical engineering. Then he started his<br />

career at Opel in 1981 as materials engineer<br />

for fuels and lubricants. Over the years he got<br />

additional responsibilities and finally before<br />

he left Opel he was leading the General<br />

Motors Europe Team for “Fuels, Lubricants<br />

and Chemistry”.<br />

Since 1st of April he now took over new<br />

responsibilities as Technical Manager of the<br />

UNITI mineral oil consulting agency.<br />

He has now more than 27 years experience in<br />

the field of fuels and lubricants including<br />

active membership in several international<br />

work groups like ACEA; CEN; VDA; ISO, etc.<br />

Dr Jürgen Müller Currently General Manager of Oemeta<br />

Chemische Werke GmbH, based in Hamberg,<br />

Germany.<br />

Philippe Rigaud Total Lubrifiants<br />

Study at the University of Braunscweig,<br />

Germany, graduation Dr. rer. Nat. 10/1969<br />

Employment in the Scientific Department of<br />

Reemtsma in Hamburg (1/70 – 5/71)<br />

Member of Different Committees (e.g. DIN,<br />

VDI, VSI and national health and<br />

environmental working groups).<br />

Manager for Metalworking at TOTAL<br />

LUBRIFIANTS. Doctor-Engineer in<br />

Electrochemistry & Analytical<br />

Electrochemistry (INPG, Grenoble, France),<br />

“Certified Metalworking Fluids Specialist”,<br />

development, application & marketing<br />

experience in industrial lubricants and<br />

metalworking fluids.


Miguel Angel Taberner FUCHS LUBRICANTES, S.A.<br />

Graduated in chemistry from Facultat de<br />

Ciencias Químicas de la Universidad de<br />

Barcelona.<br />

Working at FUCHS LUBRICANTES, S.A. from<br />

January 1995. Responsible of Cleaner and<br />

Phosphating laboratory and of the checking of<br />

“Safety Data Sheet” of products (Directive<br />

1999/45/CE) and the labelling of products<br />

under the REACH application.
