PROFESSOR MICHAEL FLOYD<br />

Professor Michael Floyd traveled to Hyderabad, India February 20‐28. He attended the 12th International<br />

Conference on Consumer Law, organized by NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad under the auspices of the<br />

International Association of Consumer Law. He also gave a lecture to fourth‐year NALSAR corporate law students<br />

on the United States' bankruptcy laws and met with NALSAR administrators to discuss ways for NALSAR and<br />

Samford to work together.<br />

organized a conference on international adoption issues at NALSAR in 2008.<br />

STAFF APPRECIATION AWARD<br />

The first annual Cumberland Staff Appreciation Award was presented during the Rascal Day festivities Thursday,<br />

March 5, <strong>2009</strong>. Like the Faculty Award, the recipient of the Staff Appreciation Award is student‐selected. The<br />

following criteria was considered: Accessibility, attitude, knowledge, helpfulness and organization. Many thanks<br />

to Frances Cade for the time and effort she has given to assist with the creation of the award.<br />

The first recipient of the Staff Appreciation Award is Grace Simms, Computer Services Librarian for the Beeson Law<br />

Library.<br />
