At their ages, Cayden and Serenity
still marvel with “oohs and ahs” at
some of the most simple things,
like opening up a fresh box of
crayons and having clean crisp
sheets of paper on which to draw.
Children need a place to express
themselves and let their
imaginations run wild in a safe and
encouraging environment. Too
often the structure of foster care or
even child-care impedes the
expression and imagination of kids
that is so vital at this age.
This week’s Wednesday’s Child features Cayden and
Serenity, an adorable sibling set with winning personalities.
Cayden was born in 2006 and his sister Serenity was born
in 2007. Both children love to explore so we brought them
to Paint Box Kids in Pasadena, California to allow them to
explore their creative sides.

Both children are sensitive and loving and want to
know as much as they can about their environment.
Both children crave time, attention and stability as
they continue to develop their own sense of self.
We’re looking for a family who will provide a safe
and loving home and family environment in which
these adorable siblings can find and express
themselves – both as individuals as well as
members of a forever family.
The project for this day’s excursion was “Me”
and involved making a paper model of one self.
Cayden and Serenity each chose colors that
express themselves to make the models in their
own likeness. You can’t see it here but Cayden
made his “mini me” with a long pony tail just
like he likes to wear. Cayden is the more
outgoing one of these siblings and can talk up a
storm while Serenity will usually answer in a
simpler and direct fashion and then throw you a
little smile.
