Numbers jumped with both lamb and mutton showing the increase. Quality was similar to previous sales though there was a<br />
slight increase in the number of plainer pens offered. Heavy and extra heavy lambs were well supplied. The usual buyers were<br />
present and competing in a fairly firm <strong>market</strong>.<br />
Light lambs held fully firm selling from $64 to $85/head. Trade weights were also fairly steady with prices ranging from $80 to<br />
$113/head. Heavy and extra heavy lambs lifted $2/head. Heavy lambs sold from $110 to $123 and extra heavy lambs received<br />
from $120 to $157/head. Carcase prices averaged from 388c to 437c/kg cwt.<br />
Mixed quality Merinos made up the majority of the mutton yarding. Medium and heavyweight ewes sold from $34 to $68/head.<br />
Crossbred ewes ranged from $32 to $62/head. Merino wethers received from $49 to $67/head.<br />
