Instructor Notes: Present the following key points.
During smaller incidents, where only one jurisdiction or agency is primarily involved, the
resource order is typically prepared at the incident, approved by the Incident Commander, and
transmitted from the incident to the jurisdiction or agency ordering point.
Methods for placing orders may include:
• Voice (by telephone or radio) or fax.
• Computer or digital display terminal.
For all incidents, using a single-point ordering system is the preferred approach.
The following pages include an explanation of the differences between single-point and
multipoint resource ordering.
