**This assignment will be receiving THREE grades: Two<br />

of the grades are test grades and one is a daily grade.<br />

**We will read in class each day, but you will also need to<br />

read independently to complete the assignment.


Characterization<br />

Novel Notes: While reading your library book, make notes of<br />

character traits that you find about your protagonist and antagonist.<br />

(If you have more than one, pick only one to analyze.) Things<br />

to look for:<br />

What the character does, says, or thinks.<br />

What other characters or the author thinks or say about the<br />

character.<br />

Remember to include the text evidence and page number.<br />

create a cartoon strip version of a story map that is labeled with<br />

setting of the novel. The setting may change since it is a longer<br />

story. Think about the time period, important places, and how the<br />

setting makes a difference to the story.<br />
