Sweet and Unforgettable Memories of
Little Flower Church, Bangalore
“……Every today is your yesterday’s tomorrow
Or your tomorrows yesterday
Hence if you make your every today a fruitful day
You will have no tomorrow to fret about and no yesterday
to regret…..”
We look back with joy and gratitude to the accomplishments
of our parish “Little Flower Church, Kothannoor
Dinne, Bangalore”. 11th January 2012 remains a memorable
day in the history of the Little Flower Parish. With commitment
we are bound to aspire greater and greater, grow sweeter
and sweeter, act smarter and smarter, glow brighter and
brighter and achieve bigger and bigger. The hard work of buying
this plot of land and completing the small wing of the proposed
church will not be easily forgotten... hard work is pleasure
only for those who are prepared to bear its pressure.... that
satisfaction is bound to be more comforting than the struggle
gone into it... it is nothing compared to the temporary church
and the area around it for all requirements of the church like
catechism, common gatherings and celebrations. At the completion
of construction of the church, Most Rev. Dr. Bernard
Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore promised us to come and
bless this new and temporary Church on 12th January 2012
but unfortunately due to his ill health he cancelled all his appointments
in the archdiocese.
Thus in his absence Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Vazhappilly, Bishop
of Mysore accepted our invitation and blessed the new Church
in the presence of Provincial Very Rev. Fr. Sojan Neendoor O.
Carm., Councillor Rev. Fr. Shaji Kuzhinjalil, Superior Rev.
Fr. Robert Thomas Pudussery and the entire community of
Carmel Jyothi. Thousands of candles can be lit from a single
candle and the life of the candle will not be shortened....I cannot
but forget the generous contributions of people who have
financially assisted us to realize our dream come true...
Martin Luther puts it beautifully when he says “I have held
many things in my hands and lost them all; but whatever I
have placed in God’s hands that I still posses”. Second unforgettable
sweet memory of our parish is Popular Mission Retreat.
It was conducted from 18th March to 25th March 2012.
It was a new experience for everyone in the parish also it was
the first Popular Mission retreat conducted in Bangalore.
We remember with gratitude all the Vincentian Fathers Jomon,
Saji and Lijo for preaching the retreat and visiting the families
especially Fr. Zacharias Edattu, popular mission director
of the time, who made possible arrangements within short
time. The parishioners were privileged to receive Mar George
Njaralakattu, Bishop of Mandya on the concluding day of the
Popular Mission Retreat. His grace celebrated Holy Mass and
enriched the believers with his powerful message...
The Annual Parish Feast, First Marriage celebrations in the
parish, Onam celebrations, Holy Communion and Confirmation
and Christmas celebrations in our new Church premises
are also part of sweet memories…. shared fruits are the
best investments one can ever think of.
The Parishioners of Little Flower Church
with their valuable and generous contributions
bought a car for the parish
priest to fulfill the pastoral needs of the
parishioners easier by the Parish Priest.
