Care & Maintenance
CARE OF THE SYSTEM Water is a foodstuff and we recommend that any treated water is
consumed or discarded within 2 days.
In the event of the filter not being used for more than 48 hours, flush the filter twice with cold
water and discard the water before continuing use as normal. Should the system not be used for
an extended period of time (for example a holiday), we recommend that the filter is removed and
placed in a clean plastic bag and stored in the fridge. This will help to maintain the filter when not
in use. Before using the filter after storage, follow the installation instructions for use as normal.
The filter should be stored out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
The upper vessel, filter holder and lid should be washed regularly, at least every time the filter is
replaced.
CLEANING Switch the kettle off, unplug from the mains and allow the appliance to cool down
fully before cleaning.
Wipe the kettle inside and out with a damp cloth and clean the water filter and tank.
Don’t use any washing–up liquid or anything that may taint the water.
Don’t submerge the kettle or stand in water.
DON’T USE HARSH OR ABRASIVE CLEANING AGENTS OR SOLVENTS.
DESCALING The water filter will help reduce the limescale and phosphate scale in your kettle,
but you should still check your kettle frequently for signs of build up, even in soft water areas.
Limescale may be white coloured even rusty looking, but is normally visible. Phosphate scale isn’t
generally visible but it’s there even in soft water regions. Scale causes overheating of the appliance,
reducing kettle life.
Before using a descaler remove the water filter, as the descaler
will damage it. Use a suitable descaler for the appliance. Follow
the instructions on the descaler, rinse several times, then fill,
boil and discard water to ensure that there are no residues
left.
PURIFIER SEAL Care should be taken to ensure that the
purifier seal is fitted correctly otherwise un-filtered water may
leak into the lower vessel. If the seal becomes dislodged during
cleaning or during transportation it can be easily re-fitted onto
the tabs on the lower side of the upper vessel.
