Pledge Form - Wrestling in Washington State and beyond

Thanks you for supporting Yakima Valley Wrestling.
We are in an exciting period with the best recruiting class in years and Girl’s Wrestling program winning
the National Title in their first season. College wrestling in the State of Washington is down to just two
programs Yakima and Highline. Without your pledge and your support, we would join the ranks of so
many lost programs already. As a contributor you help secure Yakama Valley Wrestling today and future
teams to come.
At this current moment these are the goals that we are working towards in our fundraising process.
Future Goals:
Current Problem:
o $65,000 for improvements and expansion of Wrestling Room. If one individual donates
the full amount you will have the option of naming the wrestling room whatever you
want.
o $15,000/year for tuition waivers. Currently we only have $3,000/year to distribute
between 18 starting athletes in the Men’s and Women’s. At $18,000 it will only give each
starter $1,000/year and $333/term. Average tuition is $1,500 with books per term.
o $8,000 to resurface our old wrestling mats. They are deteriorating to the point were there
is a lot of gauges and tears everywhere for staph/merca to form.
o $1,000 for new climbing ropes in the wrestling room to build strong hands. (If the
Material is donated we will have it put up. We need 3 ropes at 25ft. long.)
o $15,000 for travel. Due to the women winning the National Title in their first year of
existence and lack of funds from the YVCC Athletics Department the Men and Women
have to travel together by charter bus because there are so many of us. Also due to the
amount of talent we have on the Men’s team we would like to add one big tourney to the
Reno Tournament of Champions and a big tourney to British Columbia for a huge
Women’s tournament.)
o $2,500 for new gear. Our gear is currently in the same style of singlet but in two different
colors. It looks terrible and we have cut a deal with Cliff Keen to get new stuff at ½ off,
but now we just have to come up with the money.
