• Mr. Hoi Kwan
Mr. Kwan has over 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, 11
of which with HSBC, a top-tier global financial institution. While with HSBC, Mr.
Kwan held a number of senior positions and headed a diverse range of projects in
private equity, sponsored finance and merchant banking, corporate and commercial
banking, project finance, investment banking and mergers and acquisitions across
a mixture of industries, including resources, energy, media, IT, biotech, retail and
manufacturing. Mr. Kwan served as Investment Manager at HSBC Private Equity
Management in Hong Kong, which was one of the largest private equity houses in
Asia (ex-Japan) at that time and had USD1.1 billion under management, of which
USD500 million of the funds were for direct investments in Greater China.
Mr. Kwan also held other senior positions in HSBC Investment Bank in Hong Kong.
As well, Mr. Kwan and was Managing Director of a boutique merchant banking and
financial consultancy company focused on mid-size companies in China. He has
completed numerous transactions including acquisition, divestiture, initial public
offering and reverse-take-over on major stock exchanges. Mr. Kwan has an MBA
from the University of Toronto and a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of
Calgary.
