For the average company in our trend group,
total logistics cost in 2004 was about level with
2003. This is unusual—it occurred only once
before (1992 to 1995):
Cost as a percent of sales is down only 0.4%
Cost per hundredweight is down 4.2%
About 46% of companies were able to reduce
their costs this year—significantly fewer than in
recent years.
