Electronic delivery notes mean that goods inwards
processes can be automated
The Fritz Group is automating the inward flow of goods for
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG with the SCM solution from EURO-
LOG
Hallbergmoos-München, 21 June 2012 – As a contract logistics provider,
the Fritz Group has optimized the quality of goods inwards processes at
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) on a lasting basis. Using a
Supply Chain Management solution from EURO-LOG, the Fritz Group
notifies deliveries of goods for Heidelberg and generates electronic delivery
notes on the basis of suppliers’ paper documents. On the basis of this
notification, deliveries can now be 100 per cent allocated in the goods
inwards department. The essential requirement for a seamless allocation of
goods delivered is the advance provision of data on the goods being
received in electronic form.
Delivery note production at the click of a mouse
Fritz Spedition produces the delivery notes using a software solution from
EURO-LOG. The relevant orders from the Heidelberg SAP system are
imported into the Fritz Group system. All the Fritz Group then has to do is
compare the delivery items on the paper delivery notes from supplier via
the web-based software from EURO-LOG with the orders from Heidelberg.
The Fritz Group employees can easily select the suppliers with the click of a
mouse on the basis of the article code number specified. Based on this
selection, within an extremely short time and with little manual effort, an
electronic delivery note is produced according to the requirements of
Heidelberg. Which means that processing the trucks in the goods inwards
department goes much faster.
Notification of deliveries
For Heidelberg the electronic delivery note means complete transparency
in the delivery of incoming goods. For the majority of suppliers it is not
possible for delivery notes to be supplied with the goods according to the
requirements of Heidelberg. So each delivery note looks different and
contains widely varying information. “Thanks to the EURO-LOG SCM
solution, we are now getting goods into our works at a high standard” says
Thorsten Bauch, Corporate Commodity Manager for Logistics at
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG. This is above all due to the fact that the
delivery notes can be issued quickly and without error by the Fritz Group.

Electronic delivery note production as a competitive advantage
With the software solution from EURO-LOG, the Fritz Group has a major
competitive advantage as a contract logistics provider. “Thanks to the SCM
system from EURO-LOG we have met the requirements of Heidelberger
Druckmaschinen AG in the shortest time and taken over their procurement
logistics as a contract logistics provider. That would not have been possible
otherwise” says Günter Gruber, General Manager of Fritz Spedition GmbH

Other businesses from other areas are also interested in this contract
logistics offer from the Fritz Group on account of the innovative software
solution. The SCM solution can be flexibly and rapidly implemented for the
