Isotoma anglicana, the sister species <strong>of</strong> I. viridis<br />
[Marcussen et al., 1999]. However, not all<br />
<strong>springtail</strong>s <strong>of</strong> the genus Isotoma are high-quali-<br />
ty prey species, e.g., I. trispinata MacGillivray,<br />
1896 is a toxic prey [T<strong>of</strong>t & Wise, 1999a]. <strong>The</strong><br />
quality <strong>of</strong> S. <strong>curviseta</strong> is apparently superior to<br />
that <strong>of</strong> I. viridis; in spite <strong>of</strong> the significantly<br />
smaller consumption rate <strong>of</strong> S. <strong>curviseta</strong>, spi-
