in motion, somebody has to keep the ground under their feet. You
can depend on the tested and certified quality of our products – today
and for years to come.
frangibility – tested and found to be safe
We are one of the few manufacturers in the world that produces masts in
accordance with the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO). All of our FRP masts for airports satisfy the frangibility requirements
in Annex 14 of ICAO regulations, and in the Aerodrome Design Manuals, Part 6:
Frangibility. In case of a collision, the masts snap downward without sparking.
The required characteristics have been verified by numerous Full-Scale Impact
Tests and calculations, as well as by simulations at the National Aerospace
Laboratory (NLR).
tAKeoffS And lAndingS
approach-lighting systems
Simple assembly and installation, optimal
orientation, unproblematic maintenance.
We deliver airfield ground-lighting masts –
complete and including all accessories – that
are made of fiberglass-reinforced plastics
(FRP) that is pigmented in one color or coated
in two colors. We deliver in the lengths
and heights that you require. For extremely
great heights, we offer hybrid masts. These
products are vandalism-proof, even outside
the security zone: the required cabling is installed
inside the masts. All masts over two
meters tall are provided with a baseplate

that allows tilting the masts down to the
ground. A portable tilting unit allows one
person to lower the masts, without a crane.
wind-direction indicators
Reliable, corrosion-resistant, and virtually
maintenance-free: quality down to the
last detail characterizes our tiltable winddirection-indictor
masts made of fiberglass-reinforced
plastics (FRP) and stainless
steel. The wind-sock mount allows 360
degree rotation, and the wind sock itself
is illuminated from above without glare.
wind-measurement poles
For permanently precise measuring results:
our wind-measurement poles, with their
long life cycles, are easy to handle – and
can, for example, be tilted down to the
ground. They are made of fiberglass-reinforced
(FRP) or carbon-fiber-reinforced
plastic (CFRP). Owing to their lightweight
characteristics, they can be employed at
locations with extreme conditions. Thanks
to their great stiffness and excellent vibration-damping
characteristics, they withstand
the greatest of wind loads. This enables
exact wind-velocity measurements,
even under extreme wind speeds.

Perfect light – flawlessly functional and
highly efficient: we manufacture high
apron masts and floodlight masts for aircraft-movement
areas out of steel and
prestressed spun concrete in accordance
with your specifications. For lower heights,
also in FRP. Whether you need rigid or
lowerable masts, we have the right solution
for you. The luminaires themselves
can be located in accordance with the requirements
from illumination calculations,
and with architectural design aspects.
Equipped with Nivatec lowerable systems,
ApronS
they can be lowered to the ground for main -
tenance with little manpower or organi-
zational expense – and without apron
shutdowns or cable movements. Nivatec
lowerable floodlights are unmatched in
cost effectiveness and safety.
camera masts
Monitor activity around your facilities –
with individual, space-saving, and flawlessly
functional camera masts. These
systems, available as spun-concrete and
folded-steel polygonal masts, are vandalism-proof
owing to the electrical systems
enclosed inside the hollow masts. For fast,
problem-free maintenance – for example,
in restricted space situations and without
interruption of apron operations – they
can be optionally outfitted with a Nivatec
lowerable system.
aircraft docking systems
Reliable orientation: our functional steel
masts to mount electronic display panels
for directing pilots to their aircraft docking
positions. They are available in extremely
stiff versions. The engineering design
of these versions is just as simple as it is

individual: which guarantees a maximum
of planning freedom. We implement the
most appropriate mast for you, in accordance

For airport approaches and touchdown, fingertip sensitivity is crucial. And this goes all
the more for the period just before. It’s good to rely on systems that are always available.
But it’s even better to know that you have a strong partner backing you up. We support
you with individual engineering services and deliver all masts for instrument landing
systems on a one-stop basis.
glidepath towers
Precise and easy to assemble: the threesupport
structure of our glidepath towers –
made of fiberglass-reinforced plastics (FRP)
in lightweight version – enables exact
direction of the antennas and performs
impressively with very slight deviation,
even during high winds. We pre-assemble
the masts to ensure fast installation.
These glidepath towers can be set up very
quickly, without significant hindrance of

nearfield and farfield monitor masts
Maintenance-friendly monitoring: our
nearfield and farfield monitor masts
made of FRP are available with fixed or
tiltable baseplates. They can be equipped
with grounding cables, riser cables,
and lightning protection. Together with
our glidepath towers and DME nearfield
and farfield monitor masts powerfully
support safe aircraft operations under
all weather conditions.
DMe masts
Non-stop safety: Europoles masts for
mount ing distance-measuring equipment
consist of FRP and conform to frangibility
regulations. As all of our FRP masts, they
stand up to a great variety of extreme and
harsh environments in all climate zones:
for example, moisture, wind, temperature,
sand abrasion, and chemicals.
Localizer mast systems
Rugged and adaptive: thanks to their stiff
characteristics, our localizer systems made
of FRP effectively withstand weather con

ditions and jet blast. The materials used
in these systems further prevent radio
reflections and the disturbance of radar
and radio communication. All heights are
possible. In case of steep slopes at the
installation sites, we assemble the localizer
antenna masts on stilted FRP installation
stands, in the form of lightweight and
segment models.
Shelters

Tacan towers
Unshakably economical: this mast structure
for tactical air navigation has proven
extremely attractive owing to its minimal
maintenance costs – even under extreme
climate conditions. This results from its
minimal deflection, maximum of corrosion
resistance, and a simple antenna access
for maintenance work. Our TACAN towers,
including foundations, are delivered to
extreme locations in a 40-foot container.
Radar towers
Permanently cost-efficient: in both small
and large models, our radar towers for
air-traffic control are made of concrete,
periphery And public AreAS
which ensures stability with respect to
world material prices – as well as environmental
compatibility. Thanks to the long
service life of the concrete material used
here, maintenance costs are slight. Profit
from our complete service: we support you
beginning with planning, including equipment
installation, and extending to maintenance
and inspection.
Transmission and reception stations
Individually installed: place your confidence
in concrete masts for your special
antennas for communication between
pilots and the tower. Even when these
masts are located outside safety zones,
they are adapted to the regulations of
the respective air-traffic administration
authorities of each country.
Lowerable systems indoors
Uniquely safe and cost-effective: simply
lower your hangar luminaires to save
space and to move them to maintenance
level. No additional equipment is required,
regardless of how high the hangar is. No
operational interference, and no danger
from falling parts. Maintenance work can
be performed while operations continue,
without preliminary services or planning
expense. All indoor facilities continue to
be available as normal.

colors, and surfaces. For light poles made
of steel, stainless steel, spun concrete,
fiberglass, or wood – for traffic lights or
for camera mounting, individually and in
combination. You enjoy all possibilities.
According to your requirements, we offer
on short notice standard and special
solutions that, with their individual design,
harmonically integrate into the overall
architectural concept. When masts are
finished with DCC coatings, they are protected
for up to 15 years - even in desert
environments.
