Takeoff and landing, takeoff and landing. Every few minutes. With everything<br />
in motion, somebody has to keep the ground under their feet. You<br />
can depend on the tested and certified quality of our products – today<br />
and for years to come.<br />
frangibility – tested and found to be safe<br />
We are one of the few manufacturers in the world that produces masts in<br />
accordance with the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization<br />
(ICAO). All of our FRP masts for airports satisfy the frangibility requirements<br />
in Annex 14 of ICAO regulations, and in the Aerodrome Design Manuals, Part 6:<br />
Frangibility. In case of a collision, the masts snap downward without sparking.<br />
The required characteristics have been verified by numerous Full-Scale Impact<br />
Tests and calculations, as well as by simulations at the National Aerospace<br />
Laboratory (NLR).<br />
tAKeoffS And lAndingS<br />
approach-lighting systems<br />
Simple assembly and installation, optimal<br />
orientation, unproblematic maintenance.<br />
We deliver airfield ground-lighting masts –<br />
complete and including all accessories – that<br />
are made of fiberglass-reinforced plastics<br />
(FRP) that is pigmented in one color or coated<br />
in two colors. We deliver in the lengths<br />
and heights that you require. For extremely<br />
great heights, we offer hybrid masts. These<br />
products are vandalism-proof, even outside<br />
the security zone: the required cabling is installed<br />
inside the masts. All masts over two<br />
meters tall are provided with a baseplate
that allows tilting the masts down to the<br />
ground. A portable tilting unit allows one<br />
person to lower the masts, without a crane.<br />
wind-direction indicators<br />
Reliable, corrosion-resistant, and virtually<br />
maintenance-free: quality down to the<br />
last detail characterizes our tiltable winddirection-indictor<br />
masts made of fiberglass-reinforced<br />
plastics (FRP) and stainless<br />
steel. The wind-sock mount allows 360<br />
degree rotation, and the wind sock itself<br />
is illuminated from above without glare.<br />
wind-measurement poles<br />
For permanently precise measuring results:<br />
our wind-measurement poles, with their<br />
long life cycles, are easy to handle – and<br />
can, for example, be tilted down to the<br />
ground. They are made of fiberglass-reinforced<br />
(FRP) or carbon-fiber-reinforced<br />
plastic (CFRP). Owing to their lightweight<br />
characteristics, they can be employed at<br />
locations with extreme conditions. Thanks<br />
to their great stiffness and excellent vibration-damping<br />
characteristics, they withstand<br />
the greatest of wind loads. This enables<br />
exact wind-velocity measurements,<br />
even under extreme wind speeds.<br />

Perfect light – flawlessly functional and<br />
highly efficient: we manufacture high<br />
apron masts and floodlight masts for aircraft-movement<br />
areas out of steel and<br />
prestressed spun concrete in accordance<br />
with your specifications. For lower heights,<br />
also in FRP. Whether you need rigid or<br />
lowerable masts, we have the right solution<br />
for you. The luminaires themselves<br />
can be located in accordance with the requirements<br />
from illumination calculations,<br />

Equipped with Nivatec lowerable systems,<br />
ApronS<br />
they can be lowered to the ground for main -<br />
tenance with little manpower or organi-<br />
zational expense – and without apron<br />

camera masts<br />
Monitor activity around your facilities –<br />
with individual, space-saving, and flawlessly<br />
functional camera masts. These<br />
systems, available as spun-concrete and<br />
folded-steel polygonal masts, are vandalism-proof<br />
owing to the electrical systems<br />
enclosed inside the hollow masts. For fast,<br />
problem-free maintenance – for example,<br />
in restricted space situations and without<br />
interruption of apron operations – they<br />
can be optionally outfitted with a Nivatec<br />

Reliable orientation: our functional steel<br />
masts to mount electronic display panels<br />

For airport approaches and touchdown, fingertip sensitivity is crucial. And this goes all<br />
the more for the period just before. It’s good to rely on systems that are always available.<br />
But it’s even better to know that you have a strong partner backing you up. We support<br />
you with individual engineering services and deliver all masts for instrument landing<br />
systems on a one-stop basis.<br />
glidepath towers<br />
Precise and easy to assemble: the threesupport<br />
structure of our glidepath towers –<br />
made of fiberglass-reinforced plastics (FRP)<br />
in lightweight version – enables exact<br />
direction of the antennas and performs<br />
impressively with very slight deviation,<br />
even during high winds. We pre-assemble<br />
the masts to ensure fast installation.<br />
These glidepath towers can be set up very<br />
quickly, without significant hindrance of<br />

nearfield and farfield monitor masts<br />
Maintenance-friendly monitoring: our<br />
nearfield and farfield monitor masts<br />
made of FRP are available with fixed or<br />
tiltable baseplates. They can be equipped<br />
with grounding cables, riser cables,<br />
and lightning protection. Together with<br />
our glidepath towers and DME nearfield<br />
and farfield monitor masts powerfully<br />
support safe aircraft operations under<br />
all weather conditions.<br />
DMe masts<br />
Non-stop safety: <strong>Europoles</strong> masts for<br />
mount ing distance-measuring equipment<br />
consist of FRP and conform to frangibility<br />
regulations. As all of our FRP masts, they<br />
stand up to a great variety of extreme and<br />
harsh environments in all climate zones:<br />
for example, moisture, wind, temperature,<br />
sand abrasion, and chemicals.<br />
Localizer mast systems<br />
Rugged and adaptive: thanks to their stiff<br />
characteristics, our localizer systems made<br />
of FRP effectively withstand weather con
ditions and jet blast. The materials used<br />
in these systems further prevent radio<br />
reflections and the disturbance of radar<br />
and radio communication. All heights are<br />
possible. In case of steep slopes at the<br />
installation sites, we assemble the localizer<br />
antenna masts on stilted FRP installation<br />
stands, in the form of lightweight and<br />

Tacan towers<br />
Unshakably economical: this mast structure<br />
for tactical air navigation has proven<br />
extremely attractive owing to its minimal<br />
maintenance costs – even under extreme<br />
climate conditions. This results from its<br />
minimal deflection, maximum of corrosion<br />
resistance, and a simple antenna access<br />
for maintenance work. Our TACAN towers,<br />
including foundations, are delivered to<br />
extreme locations in a 40-foot container.<br />
Radar towers<br />
Permanently cost-efficient: in both small<br />
and large models, our radar towers for<br />
air-traffic control are made of concrete,<br />

which ensures stability with respect to<br />
world material prices – as well as environmental<br />
compatibility. Thanks to the long<br />
service life of the concrete material used<br />

Transmission and reception stations<br />

the respective air-traffic administration<br />
authorities of each country.<br />
Lowerable systems indoors<br />
Uniquely safe and cost-effective: simply<br />
lower your hangar luminaires to save<br />
space and to move them to maintenance<br />
level. No additional equipment is required,<br />
regardless of how high the hangar is. No<br />
operational interference, and no danger<br />
from falling parts. Maintenance work can<br />
be performed while operations continue,<br />
without preliminary services or planning<br />
expense. All indoor facilities continue to<br />
be available as normal.
