Public Education
The department’s Life Safety Education Center (LSEC) was utilized
at nine public education details outside of Evendale and
twelve details in Evendale. On duty personnel were used for 43
hours, while the others hours were staffed by off duty personnel.
Total persons touched by the department’s public education efforts
in Evendale were 783, up 21% over last year. The breakdown
of the numbers was 471 children and 312 adults participated
in these educational opportunities.
Training
In 2009 the fire department concentrated on the
basics with a heavy emphasis on field work and
hands on training. The fire department continued to
develop inter department relations through training
with our neighboring cities and villages. This has
provided us with a larger pool of talents and skills to
draw knowledge from.
Over 3,487 hours of training was completed by the
members of the fire department. These hours include
our fire and EMS trainings that are conducted
on shift as well as classes or courses that are taken
outside of the fire department.
