At the <strong>Kaiser</strong> Family of <strong>Restaurant</strong>s we know an exceptional meal beg<strong>in</strong>s with the<br />

<strong>Kaiser</strong> <strong>Restaurant</strong> <strong>Group</strong> employs 500 employees. This company has a solid track<br />

record of quality performance, guest loyalty and steady growth start<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Palm Desert,<br />

California <strong>in</strong> 1992. The group is develop<strong>in</strong>g other concepts/brands to other<br />

Southern California & Southwest United States markets.<br />

<strong>Our</strong> Management <strong>Kaiser</strong> Morcus—Founder: Patriarch <strong>Kaiser</strong> Morcus has lived the classic American<br />

Dream s<strong>in</strong>ce arriv<strong>in</strong>g as a young immigrant from Lebanon <strong>in</strong> 1956. He evolved<br />

<strong>in</strong>to a successful and respected hotelier and restaurateur <strong>in</strong> Denver and Vail, Colorado,<br />

before retir<strong>in</strong>g to the sleepy Coachella Valley <strong>in</strong> 1990. Quickly bored with golf<br />

and long<strong>in</strong>g for a decent restaurant meal, he opened the first <strong>Kaiser</strong> Grille <strong>in</strong> Palm<br />

Desert <strong>in</strong> 1992. Throughout his career he has developed over $200 million of real<br />

estate and restaurant space.<br />

<strong>Kaiser</strong> Morcus is the founder and spirit of <strong>Kaiser</strong> <strong>Restaurant</strong> <strong>Group</strong>, a privately held<br />

<strong>family</strong> restaurant company that has built, owned, and operated multiple restaurant<br />

concepts — from casual through f<strong>in</strong>e d<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g — <strong>in</strong> the Palm Spr<strong>in</strong>gs desert resorts<br />

and Carmel communities.<br />

Lee Morcus—Pr<strong>in</strong>cipal: <strong>Kaiser</strong>’s son, Lee is a co-found<strong>in</strong>g pr<strong>in</strong>cipal of the <strong>Kaiser</strong><br />

<strong>Restaurant</strong> <strong>Group</strong>. S<strong>in</strong>ce the company’s <strong>in</strong>ception Lee has developed 7 successful,<br />

award-w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g restaurants.<br />

Lee has been a community leader <strong>in</strong> the Coachella Valley for two decades. He has<br />

served as Chairman and CEO of the Palm Spr<strong>in</strong>gs Convention and Visitors Authority<br />

for 10 years—which under his leadership has been the key organization <strong>in</strong> grow<strong>in</strong>g<br />

for the desert economy. He holds Bachelors of Science, Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Adm<strong>in</strong>istration<br />

Degree <strong>in</strong> Hotel and <strong>Restaurant</strong> Management from the University of Denver.<br />

Eric Morcus—Director of Market<strong>in</strong>g: Another son, Eric, tir<strong>in</strong>g of the rat race <strong>in</strong><br />

the corporate world as a District Sales Manager with M<strong>in</strong>olta Corporation, he<br />

moved his <strong>family</strong> to the desert <strong>in</strong> 2005 to help operate the grow<strong>in</strong>g number of <strong>Kaiser</strong><br />

<strong>Restaurant</strong>s. He earned top honors <strong>in</strong> this <strong>every</strong> year he held this position as<br />

District Sales Manager.<br />

He is Director of <strong>Group</strong> Services, Event Plann<strong>in</strong>g, Sales and Market<strong>in</strong>g for the company.<br />

He has been sem<strong>in</strong>al <strong>in</strong> provid<strong>in</strong>g top quality events for Fortune 500 companies<br />

like, Time Warner, State Farm, Abbott Laboratories, Morgan Stanley, Merck<br />

Pharmaceuticals, Dow chemical Co, Roche and dozens of others.<br />

Sue Morcus—Director of Human Resources: Daughter Sue Morcus Fee was<br />

recruited to the fold <strong>in</strong> 2005 as Human Resources director, and did a masterful job<br />

of handl<strong>in</strong>g three thousand job applications when one of their latest projects, Jackalope<br />

Ranch, was prepar<strong>in</strong>g to open. When Jackalope Ranch opened <strong>in</strong> 2009, the<br />

number of people employed by the <strong>Kaiser</strong> <strong>Restaurant</strong> group jumped to over 400.<br />

hanks to a personal relationship between <strong>Kaiser</strong> <strong>Restaurant</strong> <strong>Group</strong> patriarch <strong>Kaiser</strong> Morcus and actor/director<br />

Cl<strong>in</strong>t Eastwood, the company acquired the famous Carmel, CA restaurant <strong>in</strong> May of<br />

2000. In August 2003 the company launched “the desert Hog” on the top floor of the then-new Old<br />

Town La Qu<strong>in</strong>ta shopp<strong>in</strong>g village where it offers casual <strong>in</strong>door and outdoor d<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g with clear views of the<br />

nearby Santa Rosa Mounta<strong>in</strong>s.<br />

Serv<strong>in</strong>g lunch and d<strong>in</strong>ner seven days a week, the cuis<strong>in</strong>e is California-style, featur<strong>in</strong>g top quality meats, sea-<br />

food, pasta, pizza, and salads. The carefully crafted w<strong>in</strong>e list features some of California’s best w<strong>in</strong>es and the<br />

he first Chop House opened <strong>in</strong> Palm Spr<strong>in</strong>gs across the street from <strong>Kaiser</strong> Grill <strong>in</strong> 2001 to address<br />

the lack of a top quality steak house <strong>in</strong> the entire Coachella Valley. Serv<strong>in</strong>g all natural USDA Prime<br />

Angus beef and grass fed beef, susta<strong>in</strong>able seafood, and seasonal fresh produce, it also has one of<br />

the largest w<strong>in</strong>e cellars <strong>in</strong> the Coachella Valley with some 3,500 bottles.<br />

The success of the Palm Spr<strong>in</strong>gs Chop House spawned another one <strong>in</strong> Palm Desert <strong>in</strong> 2003 with a slightly dif-<br />

ferent menu driven by the slightly different clientele. Both restaurants cont<strong>in</strong>ue to thrive.<br />

his unique property consists of a f<strong>in</strong>ely-crafted 21,000 square-foot bar and restaurant build<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the<br />

center of a lush six-and-a-half-acre property that has been designed and beautifully landscaped for<br />

events from wedd<strong>in</strong>gs to hoe-downs. Designed and constructed at a cost of $38 million over a period<br />

of 5 years by the late restaurateur Don Callender, the <strong>Kaiser</strong> <strong>Restaurant</strong> <strong>Group</strong> opened it <strong>in</strong> January,<br />

2009, and cont<strong>in</strong>ues to operate it under contract to the Callender Trust.<br />

The <strong>in</strong>terior offers four d<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g areas , a grand saloon, and private patios. The saloon extends outdoors to a<br />

palapa bar with fire pits. There are three event lawns as well for corporate receptions, d<strong>in</strong>ners, non-profit<br />

functions, and wedd<strong>in</strong>gs. Serv<strong>in</strong>g lunch and d<strong>in</strong>ner, the cuis<strong>in</strong>e is California Ranch style and the menu features<br />

local produce, with mouthwater<strong>in</strong>g “slow and low” cooked barbequed ribs, steaks and chops from<br />

grass-fed beef, as well as award-w<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g tamales.<br />

veritable hamburger heaven, the GRIND opened <strong>in</strong> January, 2011 <strong>in</strong> a 5,500 square foot secondstory<br />

space above the Chop House Palm Spr<strong>in</strong>gs. The <strong>in</strong>terior offers a sports bar with multiple<br />

games, a specialty dr<strong>in</strong>k menu, flat screen TV monitors; the exterior offers a beautiful outdoor fire<br />

pit seat<strong>in</strong>g area, and a bird's eye view of bustl<strong>in</strong>g Palm Canyon Drive below.<br />

Meats are raised naturally and produce is sourced from local growers and organic whenever possible.<br />

GRIND BRGR BaR is the first restaurant <strong>in</strong> Riverside County to use the Silvertap “w<strong>in</strong>e on tap” cask system<br />

that delivers excellent Sonoma w<strong>in</strong>es with a m<strong>in</strong>imal carbon footpr<strong>in</strong>t. One reusable Silvertap W<strong>in</strong>e Cask<br />

holds the equivalent of 26 bottles, at a fraction of the weight, and elim<strong>in</strong>ates the customary corks, capsules,<br />

labels and cases. Featur<strong>in</strong>g free-range natural grass fed Tasmanian Beef from a true "old fashioned" beef is<br />

ground fresh daily <strong>in</strong>-house. A Happy Hour and late-night enterta<strong>in</strong>ment keeps this hot spot lively.<br />
