BSF SEIZED HUGE QUANTITY OF ARMS AND
AMMUNITION IN INDO-PAK BORDER
Border Security Force personnel have successfully seized 06
Pistols, 06 pistol magazines, 39 live rounds and 02 Pak sim cards on
Punjab border on 29 th June 2013 at Border Out Post Joginder of
Ferozepur Sector.
Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border from smuggling point of
view, Shri Aditya Mishra, IPS, Inspector General BSF has issued
operational guidelines to further strengthen border domination so as to
effectively check the menace of narcotics smuggling on Punjab border
with Pakistan. Consequently BSF Field Units are maintaining enhanced
vigil on border.
On the night intervening 28 th /29 th June13, BSF troops of Border
Out Post Joginder noticed movement of two persons near International
Border. Subsequently in the morning, a special search operation was
carried out by BSF troops ahead of Border Security fencing in the area of
Border Out Post Joginder. During search, 06 Pistols, 06 pistol

magazines, 39 live rounds and 02 Pak sim cards were recovered from
International Border near river bank and at the edge of new fencing
which is under construction.
The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the
attempt of smugglers/ANEs to smuggle arms/ammunition into India.
In continuing with its drive against heightened activities of
smugglers/Anti National Elements, BSF has made under mentioned
seizures and apprehensions on Punjab Border during the year 2013

Heroin : 149.641 kgs
FICN : Rs. 52,04,500/-
Weapons : 12 Nos ( including 06 pistols
recovered today)
Magazines : 15 Nos ( including 06 magazines
recovered today)
Ammunition : 124 Rounds (including 39 Rounds
of ammunition recovered today)
Empty Fired Case : 12 Nos
Poppy Husk (Bhukki) : 237.123 Kgs
Opium : 0.040 gm
Wrist watch Seiko : 01 No.
