December Newsletter
Well its hard to believe that the year
is at an end, and what an exciting and
eventful year it has been, and the
success continues.
Watch out for the local newspapers
and also Today Tonight where Miss
Kerreane and some of the West
Croydon students can be seen with
Miss Kerreane’s old students Deborah
Kriziak who is one of the stars in
CHORUS LINE heading to Adelaide
in the new year – make sure you get
your tickets. We also hope to organize
workshops with both Debbie and Josh
who was the dance co-ordinator in
Disneyland but is now also in the
production of Chorus Line.
I am organizing a group booking for
January if you are interested in going
at a discounted price please let me
know asap.
Congratulations also to all those
students who have successfully
auditioned for Adelaide Youth
Theatre’s production of Annie to be
seen in January, also to those students
who successfully auditioned for
Pelican Productions also to be seen in
January.

Concert time
This is a very busy time of the year so please make sure you
have all dates and times listed and know where you should be
and when. The concert is a fun time for children to show off the
work for the year. Tickets are selling fast so please get your
orders in fast, we would hate for anyone to miss out. Please
remember though if your fees and costume accounts are not
FULLY PAID tickets will not be distributed. There are
STRICTLY NO DOOR SALES FOR THE CONCERT, all
tickets must be pre-ordered.
There are no restrictions on tickets at this stage – but don’t
delay.

REHEARSALS
Please check all details with your class organizer or
class teacher, these are important in helping with the
smooth running of the concert and help students
understand expectations so please make every effort to
attend all, it is often the children that start to stress out
PHOTOS
Photos will be arranged for some age groups – there
should soon be details given to you – this is a fund
raising project run by the committee – no other photos
are to be taken – all photos are available to order with
proceeds going to the committee and therefore back to
your children.
Any photos you may have taken this year please
forward to swan68@internode.on.net. We thank the
Swanbury family who are creating our first YEAR
BOOK, all contributions welcome – another
fundraising event.

CONCERT TIME
Yes this is a very busy time of the year, but
working together and seeing the joy in your
children’s faces is worth every minute
COSTUMES
These will be handed out in the next week or so to
those with FULLY PAID COSTUME AND FEE
ACCOUNTS only. Please check all costumes
thoroughly and make sure EVERYTHING is labeled
with your name. Body stockings are also compulsory
and available from Discount Dancewear.
TICKETS
If you have not ordered yours yet please do so asap, but
remember these will not be handed out until all
outstanding fees are fully paid. THERE WILL BE NO
TICKETS SOLD AT DOOR
LIFE MEMBERS
A reminder that all life members are asked to
write a biography and have photos for the
foyer display – they will also now have a
section in the year book. Life members will
have the opportunity of a small part or solo if
they have one in the concert.
ON CONCERT DAY
Please arrive by at least 6pm, with hair and
make up done (we will help younger students
with make up). Body stocking on and
costumes clearly named in costume bags. No
jewellery or valuables. Water only for a drink
and light non sticky snacks. Under 5 and 6
students can be picked up after alladin section

On all rehearsals students are expected to wear CORRECT DANCE UNIFORM , with hair up and
correct shoes as they would in a normal lesson.
Please remember water and snacks EVERYTHING TO BE LABELLED and NO JEWELLERY
URGENT HELP IS NEEDED – the concert can not run without assistance in dressing students, so
please if everyone helps at a concert that is not their own childrens we will have no problems.

All students are automatically in enrolled for
2012, however we do need to know what
classes you are interested in – we need to have
all classes booked in, so please if you cant make
the enrolment day then please just drop us an
email.
A full timetable will be on the website (and
possibly in end of year info pack), this is subject
to change and if you have problems please let
me know asap, things can and usually do
change.
For those young students moving to higher
classes you have several options. If you choose
to do competitions then you will need to take
part in classical and or technque classes – this is
recommended from Under 8 but compulsory
from Under 10.
If this is not what you are after that is not a
problem – we offer non competitive classes in
jazz, tap and classical and also in hip hop,
contemporary and musical theatre. We also
have boys only classes and next year will
reintroduce ACROBATICS CLASSES. These
classes will participate in the mid year display
and concert, but again this is not complulsory.
Competitions classes will work towards the July
and possibly September competitions, but I am
also keen to see if anyone is interested in
travelling to either Melbourne (September) or
Mildura (earlier in the year), but I also
understand a quieter year would be nice!!!!
As a school I would also like to support
CANDANCE FOR A CURE once again at the
Adelaide Entertainment Centre, it is a great
cause and a lot of fun.
The year will also be rounded off with our end
of year concert which is a lot of fun for all

concerned.
For those keen to participate in their exams
(and for older students gain SACE points) these
will continue and this year several students will
be eligible for the ATOD scholarships which I
hope to enter, these are however held interstate
Those older students wishing to find out more
details about SACE need to let me know also so
we can get things rolling, there is also the
opportunity to participate with Marden and
TIDC working together for Stage 1 and 2 SACE
points, please see me about this immediately.
Parents have also been asking me will we travel
overseas again – this was even before we got
back!!! Well certainly not this year but I will be
looking into 2013/2014 possible Europe trip.
Performing in Paris Disneyland and classes at
Pineapple studios as well as various other
opportunities, but at this stage it is a very
distant thought, like everyone else I need to
recover.
Most of our teachers will stay on board, with
new teachers and classes being created also.
There is also a new syllabus in
CONTEMPORARY available and we are keen
to get this going – wonderful for those students
doing dance at school too.
I also have a couple of working bees planned
and do hope you can attend and help out
getting the studios ready for the exciting (but
quieter) year ahead.
I will also be running holiday classes for all
solos – please see me asap if interested.
But as always TIDC will help your child grow
and nuture their love of dance and let them
strive for their dreams or just have a lot of fun
and keep fit.

ELIZABETH STUDIO - Unfortunately the props and masks have all bee returned in great disarray to
the props room and I am in URGENT need of assistance. All props need to be neatly repacked away –
this is a real danger at the moment. I know many parents sit and wait for their children and it would be
great if a group of you could use this time to help re-organise or put away the props.
There are also many foam masks etc that have just been thrown back into the props room – I need these
to either be put into the plastic containers, or back into the boxes or into black garbage bags – PLEASE
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED
WEST CROYDON STUDIO – Again we are in need of the props areas to be reorganized and tidied but
more importantly we need some curtains made for the mirrors – I have the fabric and at the moment I
am needing to pin this up for exams which looks very untidy and unprofessional, so please if you can
assist me with this as I do not sew please let me know asap.
