Dear Parents<br />
Welcome back to the third term. I trust that you all had a restful break with your children and that you<br />
are ready to embark on the last leg of this year.<br />
STAFF<br />
We welcome back Mrs Magagula after her maternity leave. We welcome Mr Lameck Tshuma our new<br />
Occupational Therapist. Mr Tshuma comes to the school with much experience and we certainly look<br />
forward to his expertise and contribution to the school and the Learning Support Centre, and wish him a<br />
happy and rewarding stay at <strong>Usutu</strong>.<br />
It was with great sadness that we learnt late last term of the passing of our former driver, Solomon<br />
Malaza. Our heartfelt condolences to Solomon’s family. They are in our thoughts and prayers.<br />
WELCOME<br />
We welcome the following children and their families to our school this term: Cade Colhoun (Gr 00),<br />
Timiso Motsa (Gr 00), Gia Agori-Melo (Gr 00), Progha Barua (Gr 0), Niloy Barua (Gr 4), Mahlet Kebede (Gr<br />
4), Liam Emmet (Gr 5). We trust that they will enjoy their time at <strong>Usutu</strong>.<br />
RAFFLE<br />
Thank you for your generous support of our raffle held last term. The winners were drawn at the end of<br />
last term, and we congratulate the following winners: Zen Zen Said (PSP), Indiwe Mduli (cellphone);<br />
Cynthia Lukhele (Camelot Spa Voucher); Brunielle Broadwell (Swazi Trails Voucher) and Roger Tsai<br />
(Hamper). Well done, too, to the pupils who sold the most tickets: Laiken Henwood (1 st ), Caleb<br />
carmichael (2 nd ) , Niamh Moir (3 rd ) and Shae-Lynn McHardy (4 th ).<br />
AFTERNOON PROGRAMME<br />
A reminder that our new afternoon programme will be distributed this week and will commence on<br />
Monday 17 th September. There will be no afternoon activities during the first week of term and all buses<br />
will depart at 13h00.<br />
NOTICE PERIOD – PUPIL WITHDRAWAL<br />
Please be reminded that should you be relocating, or thinking of withdrawing your child/ren from the<br />
school, that a full term’s notice is required. Failure to give the stipulated notice period could result in you<br />
being liable for the following term’s school fees. Please be sure to place your notice to withdraw your<br />
child/ren in writing timeously.<br />
REPORTS AND OPEN DAY<br />
Reports for the second term were sent out on the last day of last term. We do have an Open Day<br />
scheduled for Thursday 27 September, at which time you will be given the opportunity of discussing your<br />
child’s progress and report with his/her class teacher. However, should you wish to discuss any aspects of<br />
the reports prior to the Open Day, please feel free to arrange a meeting with the class teacher through<br />
the office.<br />
SCHOOL FEES<br />
Please be reminded that school fees for the third term are due, and should be paid by 30 September.<br />
Please note that fees are payable by direct deposit or EFT. No cash will be received at the school. Please<br />
use child’s name and grade as reference and forward proof of payment by child mail, fax 2467 4<strong>19</strong>2,<br />
or email mdlamini@<strong>usutu</strong>primary.ac.sz. We ask that you will adhere to the time frame allowed for the<br />
full payment of fees. Please note that Mrs Dlamini can now also be reached on her direct line 2467 4282.
PHOTOGRAPHS<br />
Sport and group photographs will be taken on Friday 14 September. Please ensure that your child has all<br />
the necessary sports kit and that it is neat and clean. A separate letter is enclosed in this regard.<br />
TERM CALENDAR AND 2013 TERM DATES<br />
A copy of these were included with the reports last term, but should you require additional copies, they<br />
can be requested from the office. They will also be available on the website, www.<strong>usutu</strong>primary.ac.sz<br />

BUILDING PROJECT<br />
You will notice that the Learning Support and Computer Centre and auxiliary staff recreational area is<br />
taking shape. We once again thank Neal Rijkenberg (NHR) and Jeanne Volschenk (Farmchem) for their<br />
continued assistance with transport of materials, Lionel Chambers for his technical input and ToepferSons,<br />
Bokies Construction and Civil Engineering Langa Bricks and Enemble Plastics for their supply of building<br />
materials<br />
