Wilhelm of Germany to commemorate his visit<br />
to İstanbul in 1901, and all of its parts were<br />
produced in Germany, hence it bears this name.<br />
The internal face of the dome was gilded. It<br />
stands in the very place where the gate of the<br />
ancient hippodrome stood, which was decorated<br />
with numerous statues and monuments.<br />
