EXPECTATIONS
Those who sign up for this musical are required to be at all rehearsals. This includes
choir/dance rehearsals, speaking cast rehearsals, extra rehearsals, and Xavier rehearsals
including dress rehearsal.
All speaking and singing parts are open to all students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
Everyone who auditions for the musical will be given a part in either the choir or the
speaking cast. If you are trying out for a speaking part, we want you to be a team player
and be willing to accept the role you receive, whether choir or speaking part! Everyone
will be learning dances that will go with the songs. Once parts are assigned you are
responsible for learning lines, learning music, and attending all practices and rehearsals
as well as keeping up with your school work! If you cannot do this, your part will be
given to someone else!
We are trying to work around the sports so that all students may participate in other
activities as well as the musical.
Attached is a calendar of all rehearsals. Please keep this as a reference at all times.
Additions and changes will be made as is necessary but the basic calendar will be
followed. Check e-mails for any last minute changes.
SOLO PRACTICE FOR AUDITIONS!!!!!
This is a time for students to learn the music before the auditions. There are a lot of
singing solos in this musical. Be sure you know the songs and their ranges (how high and
low the song is-before auditions)!!! Those who audition for both singing and acting
have a better chance of getting parts. Don’t be quiet and shy..... This is your chance to
learn the songs ahead of time! Check the calendar for times of practices!

AUDITIONS
Parents need to help students sign up for the musical on the Musical Sign Up forms! The
Sign-Up form is attached to this packet. August 31st is the due date for the Musical
Sign-Up Form and for signing up for an audition time. Don’t wait until the last
minute!!!! Each student needs to choose one time they want to audition and come only
that one time. Please arrange for a ride home the night you audition (so that we do not
have to rush through auditions) or plan on being at one of the early morning auditions.
Morning auditions are limited in the number of students who can audition because of the
time factor. You are free to leave after you have finished your audition. See the
calendar for days & times. PLEASE sign up for audition times in the music room with
Mrs. Mann!
REHEARSAL TIMES ALL CAST AND CHOIR
Every member of the cast & choir is in the musical choir! Attendance is required at all
of these rehearsals!!!! Only if you are absent or have an appointment will you be
excused. Sleeping in is not an excuse! Please communicate with Mrs. Mann in
advance!! Three unexcused missed rehearsals may result in the loss of a part or loss of
participating in the musical.
All Cast and Choir Practices are every Monday and Friday morning 7:30-8:25 a.m.
All students will be working on singing and dancing!
Thursday mornings are practices for dances and/or solos from 7:30-8:25 a.m. Students
will be notified about who needs to attend those practices!
E-mails will be sent out with announcements, changes, and reminders. Keep checking!
Parents please communicate on days students are unable to attend!!!!!
REHEARSAL TIMES SOLOISTS
This is an important rehearsal for soloists. Rehearsals will be during Wednesday activity
time 3:05 until 4:15 p.m. Times will be a scheduled to work with each soloist. This will
also work around the speaking rehearsal times.
***REHEARSAL TIMES SPEAKING PARTS***
Monday mornings – 7:30-8:25 a.m.
Wednesday afternoons - 3:30 -4:15 p.m.
Sports people may leave to get to practice at 4:15 p.m. Communication with the coaches
is just as important as with us. Parents and students need to let their coaches know of
these practices. Parents and students need to let us know if there are any problems so that
we can work with the coaches also!
In-service Days & Evening REHEARSALS at LaSalle
All cast and crews must attend these rehearsals!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 12th 12:30-3:30 p.m. – This is our first whole group rehearsal of the entire
musical. This is an Inservice Day. We have set aside this afternoon as rehearsal in place
of a Saturday morning rehearsal!
November 2nd 6:00-8:30 p.m. – This is our second whole group rehearsal.
November 6 th 1:30-4:30 p.m. –This is reserved for musical as a rehearsal day. In case it is needed.

**** Final REHEARSALS
These are required attendance by all cast and crew!!!!!
Tuesday, November 10th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at LaSalle M.S.
Wednesday, November 11 th from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Xavier –Dress Rehearsal
*******On Tuesday, November 11th Scenery, props, sound, lights should be ready by
4:30 p.m. at Xavier to set up the stage.
Be prompt and ready to begin exactly on time for all rehearsals! Scenery, props, sound,
lights should be ready 30 minutes early all other nights.
PERFORMANCES
Thursday, November 12th, 12:15 p.m.
(Matinee/dress rehearsal for LaSalle student body.)
Nov. 12th & 13th- 7:00 p.m. performances for public
Admission $5.00 Adults / $3.00 Students
There is limited seating and there will be reserved seats
which may be ordered in advance by calling the LaSalle office 396-7792
starting November 2nd.
** All students/children who attend will be charged the $3.00 admission.
Pizza Party
There will be a cast/choir/crew party at Happy Joe’s West following the Friday,
November 13th performance. Everyone involved in the musical in any way is invited.
Everyone needs to provide his or her own transportation and money. Parents are invited
and are asked to pick up their students absolutely no later than 10:30 p.m.!
SCENERY/PROPS, LIGHTS CREW
Mrs. Mann will choose a small group of students to work these crews. Crew/members
will be notified when they start working. Scenery/props crew will be responsible for
collecting props, painting scenery, and moving sets and props on stage. Sound
(rehearsals only) /lights crew will work with running the spotlights. Both crews are
responsible to set up and take down for all rehearsals. Students interested in being a
part of these crew need to sign a Musical Sign Up form and turn it in by August
31st!!!!
COSTUME & FEE
Students/parents are responsible for getting some parts of their costumes. Part of the
costume will be made for each student and part of the costume will come from the
costume room. There will be a fee of $10 per student that is due with the Musical
Sign Up form on August 31st! Those students who do not pay this fee will not
receive their costume until this is paid. A list of what each student will need to wear
will be coming soon!

T-Shirts Orders
We will be taking orders for the Musical T-shirts in the next couple of weeks. Crew
members must order the crew shirts to wear for performances. Prices and order forms to
come soon!
PARENT HELP!
Parents we need your help to make this musical a success. The musical is a team effort
of the staff at LaSalle, the students, and the parents.
Help needed:
1. Sewing costumes: please contact me ASAP if you can help sew!
2. Help with cutting out, ironing, gluing etc. for costumes/props.
3. Collect and organize Props.
4. Make up committee. Organize make up and/or help apply make up.
5. Back stage Mom/Dad to organize and collect costumes and props. Run a tight
ship backstage so that everyone is doing his or her job!
6. Help hang backdrop and take it down when over. (Several Dads to help!)
7. Help haul scenery/props/costumes to and from Xavier.
8. Help with costumes at the dress rehearsal.
9. ????
