FROM THE PREZ
Dear Members, April 2012
Whew! What warm weather we have…..I’ll take it!!! Another day closer to Spring…..
We chose our charities for the year at the March membership meeting, thank you
everyone for your inputs. The short notice was because we changed the choosing to
the Spring, but we’re keeping the actual donating the same, at the end of the year. This
will allow us to show them on flyers for club general charity events, like the car show
and rallies, in order to get more attendance & sponsors & advertising & donations. So,
the flyers for these events will show all these chosen charities.
Then we’re having several events this year that are club specific charity events, like
35 th anniversary pins (thanks to Kevin Daleiden) & 35 th anniversary DVDs (thanks to
Mark DalBello) whose profits go to St. Judes. The Sunburst Halloween Party at Little
Angels is another example, the profits go to Little Angels. So, the flyers for these events
will only show that specific charity.
In March we had the 35 th Anniversary Party at the Anvil Club in Dundee, with 55 people
attending. Thank you Kevin Daleiden and Karen Baird for all your work planning a great
evening. We only have about three dozen 35 th anniversary pins left, so contact Kevin
to get yours. Thank you Mark DalBello for putting together a professional 35 th
anniversary DVD with photos from past years, showing a lot of past members as well as
present members. Contact Mark to get yours for only $5.
In April, Mike Stevens has a number of people already signed up for the Auto Detailing
Clinic on the 14 th at our sponsor Crystal Lake Chevrolet. This is your chance to try out a
clay bar and an electric polisher with professional instruction. Then a group of 38
people is ready to go on The Spring Drive Out to Bowling Green planned by Gary
Gembala. They leave the 28 th …..have a great trip!
In May come on along to the Woodstock Memorial Day Parade on the 28 th . Ron Gliot
is putting that together, and plans to start at the same McDonalds as previous years.
In June the Fun Rallye on the 10 th will end with……surprise!......eating!……at a dining
facility. We’ll have a flyer at the April meeting. Al Higgins is working on getting
information for Bloomington Gold, this is their last year at Pheasant Run before they
move to Champaign. They just changed ownership and the club parking has changed,
so Al will keep us updated.
It’s a busy year already, with flash drives and everything……fasten your seat belts &
come on along!
Yours in Vetting,
Tom
