Preface:-
Kalol is situated on the northern region of Gujarat State, It is in between
the Kalol and Chhatral G.I.D.C. The people of Kalol are employed in various
sectors of central, state, municipal, corporate, industry and agriculture sector.
It has an overall population of Approximately more than 2 lakhs.
The College has its own vision and mission. Our mission is to be the
centre of rural upliftment with education & literacy. Development of moral
awareness. To build up a strong nation.
The mission is set to develop human resources, at par with the modern
technological challenges and to train the students accordingly leading to
sustainable national development.
Under the supervision of able secretary Shri Prafulbhai Talsania and
other honorable members of the trust, the college has tried to fulfill various,
recommendations suggested by NAAC committee in March 2009.
This year Gujarat state Government has introduced a noble approach of
culminating various Professional, sports, Artistic and cultural characteristics in
college students all over the state.
Above Concept has been nurtured by organizing various programmes
under the banner of “SAPTADHARA”.
SAPTDHARA includes:-
-Music Club.
-Nrutya Dhara.( Dance club)
-Sports Club.
-Community based services.
-Rang,Kala Kaushalya.
-Gyan Dhara etc.
Above all, college professors have actively participated in establishing
Red ribbon club, Legal literary club, Anti ragging committee etc.NCC and NSS
activities are going on as per their schedules.
Our college has striven hard to create excellence in academics, co- curricular
activities’ socio cultural functions, extension activities and sports. The college
has also taken an initiative for the development of English proficiency, career
counseling and job placement.

Campus interview).Placement cell has been developed in the
college. Prof.Dr .J.R.Prajapati & Prof. Rajendra Patel are the active
members.
Q.1 Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution :
Ans. 1. Activities on Environment including environment awareness through
Tree Plantation, Self awareness etc. Lecture was organized by Mr .Pathan from
Green planet world organization.
2.A Blood Donation camp was organized in the college. Where students actively
donated blood.
3.Swarnami Jayanti Celebration-All the College students listened to our
honorable Chief minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Speech on Teachers Day.

4.SAVE GIRL CHILD & HEALTHY CHILD AWARENESS DRIVE by College 9 th
September,2008
5.General knowledge Test were conducted in science as well as Arts stream.
6.Participation of students & Professor incharge in various camps.
7.NSS 10 days camp in village adaptation by college.
8.Orientation of lecturers towards English and computer use by organizing
seven days workshop on knowledge management programme for faculty.
9.Celebration of AIDS Day by drawing awareness posters and their
presentation.
10. Celebration of Teacher day , Patriotic Song Competition etc.

Ans:1. In economics department exam without books was conducted, result
was not appreciating .It was difficult for the students to search answer.
2.In order to reform and show transparency in the assessment of exam papers
the English department organized an open day for students and parents to
have a look at the assessed papers after the internal tests.

Q.1 Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution :
Tree Plantation Programme was held in the college. Our CWDC NSS and NCC
Units try their best to inculcate the values among the students by arranging
many activities .
2.A Blood Donation camp was organized in the college.

Ans. New programme of Spoken English Language Lab. & B.A.O.U have been
started Cambridge University will conduct exam of spoken English Level -1
,Level- 2 student.
Q.3 Innovations in curricular design and transaction :

Ans. According Gujarat University .Their are minor changes in Literature of
English & Gujarati subjects.
Q.4 Inter disciplinary programmes started :
Ans. College has started several IT & Non IT courses along with Gujarat
Knowledge society. Last year 40 students have passed the exam.
Under the banner BAOU several courses are run in the college like,
CCC ,CCC+ ,CCCD ,BPP ,BA , B.Com ,M.A ,CTE,CIC. B.B.A, B.C.A.
Q.5 Examination reforms implemented :
Ans.1.In Microbiology Subject objective questions were included i,e,
answer in one or two lines,or sentences, of 12 marks per theory papers of 70
marks (80%) weightage introduced at S.Y.B.sc (paper 3,4,5) and T.Y.Bsc
(paper 6 to 9) in internal as well as external exams.
2. In economics department exam with books was conducted, result was
not appreciating .It was difficult for the students to search answer.

seminar at Smt S. M. Panchal Science College Talod.

-Nearly 1000 students took out a massive rally .The principal of the
college, all the staff members worked hard to make it a grand success.
The students spread the message of “Healthy Child “ & “Save the girl
child “ to the people of the Kalol Town.
- 1 st December being the WORLD AIDS DAY, the college arranged for a
rally in the campus. The principal Dr.K.C.Desmukh, delivered a
thoughtful lecture to the students gathered at the rally.He informed the
students the reasons and causes of the AIDS.
-Tree Plantation held in Arts & Science College, Kalol.100 trees planted
in the campus with the help of the students of the Eco club.9 th
August,2008.
- Under the banner BAOU several courses are run in the college Like,

students external employees take maximum benefit of said courses.

Ans.It is planned to call the parents to show the results as well as
answer book of their wards. This was done particularly by the English
department. Parents’ suggestion and advise was appreciated.

Ans.1.Blood donation: keeping in mind the sufferings of the victims of the
Saturday (Of Terrorist Attack) blasts, a Blood Donation camp was held in the
college. Many students took part in the donation with great zeal. All were filled
with a sense of charity. They wanted to heal the wounds of victims by this
small gesture. “Service to man is service to God” was the message spread in the
Campus. The programme was arranged with the help of Indian Red Cross
Society, Ahmedabad. Principal Dr.K.C.Deshmukh encouraged the students to
donate blood.
We plan to prepare a directory of students who can donate blood in emergency.
2.Dr.Shailesh Dave- Orthopadic and Dr. Manisha Shah give their services to
our students when required.

- The College took part in the South Zone Inter college sports events. The
Sports in charge Prof.D.A.Thakar prepared three teams for the events. Kabaddi
,Chess and cricket. One student also took part in the district level Chess
Competition, held in Gandhinagar. No remarkable performance is achieved. We
got NOC from the education department for the appointment of a teacher in
sports.

Ans. Encouragement to outstanding sport persons by providing track
suits. Extra coaching in English subject was provided by Mr.Macwan.

No Re-test fee is charged for students who represent college during exam time.

B Mr.H.L.Joshi—Apart from performimng the regular duty of teaching ,he has
been the incharge & convenor of Youth Festival Activities in the college for the
last one decade. The students of the college have been doing extremely well at
various events like theatre events, music events, literary events & fine artsevents
and have won prizes at the University zonal level as well as the Inter zonal levels.
This year miss Jinal Brahmbhat, a second year student got among the best
three at the Uni. Zonal level in the poetry recitation event and eventually was
honoured with the third prize at the Inter Zonal level.
Jinal S.Brahmbhatt , was also adjudged among the best three winners at the
Zonal level in the Eloqution competition.
Miss Ankita Gupta of second year B.A. & Mr. Bhavesh Chauhan of F.Y.B.Sc.
paired together in the debate competition at the zonal level and stood among the
best three teams.
The students did extremely well in the events like mono acting, group song,
solo song, and various fine arts events. They were warmly appreciated by thew
judges as well as the audiences.All the students were trained by Prof.H.L.Joshi.
He also renders his services as a resource person of theatre events like poetry
recitation, mono acting, skit, and mimicry at the St.xaviers College, Ahmedabad.
He also renders services as a judge at University Yuth Festival: This year he judged
all theatrical events at the Yuoth Festival of Norht Gujarat University, besides
serving as a faculty of theatre & public speaking training Institute,Ahmedabad

-129 Students from Psychology Department actively participated in Seminar,
Psychological aspects of terrorism organized by Kanoriya Hospital at
Gandhinagar.
-14 students participated in International seminar on Mentally retarded
Children.Amongst them three students read research paper.
-100 students participated in exam organized by Gayatri Shaktipith (Spiritual
organization) of Gandhinagar. Prof.D.A.Thaker took active interest in
oraganising this exam.Passed students were given the certificate.

1.CWDC exists in the college, Women Development cell (committee).It has
performed various functions.
2.The Placement Cell has been established in the college.
3.Students are given the proper counseling in the beginning of the first Term
regarding the vision and Mission of the Trust and college, various subjects
offered ,various activities, examination procedure ,use of Library and computer
facilities ,rules and regulations of the college.
4.The library has added three new journals named “Gujarat journal of
psychology” , “Journal of science education”,“Current science, A National
Journal of ELT.
5. KMPF (Knowledge Management Programme For Faculty Members) was
organized in the college. Such training will be carried out next year.
6.The Research Cell is yet to be established. The proposal for UGC resource
network system has been placed before UGC.
7.The programmes and activities of our Institution have been conducted in an
appropriate way to enhance the quality by the participation of the staff and the
students. Along with other facilities like Internet and computer, our library has
been enriched with reference books. Our management is positively thinking for
the prospective plan of additional facilities and programmes.
8. Newly Implemented : New minor research projects is planned to be applied
by J.G.Parikh in Arts Faculty. One Interdesciplinary Project by Dr. M.R. Mehta
and N.R.goyal is planned for proposal in Science Faculty.
9. College has started several IT & Non IT courses along with Gujarat
Knowledge society. At present 20 students have been registered.
Under the banner BAOU several courses are run in the college Like,
CCC ,CCC+ ,CCCD ,BPP ,BA , B.Com ,M.A ,CTE,CIC.
10.The Institution does not conduct development programmes for non-teaching
staff.It need arises,they are motivated to acquire special skills like computer

operatins etc. They have absolute freedom to use computers, internet, audiovisual
aids and computer aided packages during their free leisure time.
11.College started Digital English Language Laboratary in the college with 25
Computers.
12.computers. college has also purchased five new computers for every

• A National work shop & seminar for students on” Understanding
childhood behavior” & “ Understanding chidren” –sponsored by
RCI,Delhi on 28 th feb 9 & 1,2 march 09 at Jodhpur.We participated with
14 students of psychology.
• Academic tour with 70 students of psychology dated 15 th Dec’09-
Student seminar on suicidal causes & its prevention at Kanoria
Hospital,gandhinagar.
• Dr.J.Parikh had taken active participation for the paper reading by our
Two students and honored to get certificates in UGC sponsored
N.Seminar on “Innovative dimensions of psychology “ on 31 st Jan 2010
at Smt.A.P.Patel Arts & Shree N.P.patel com. College Naroda.
• We were at Forensic Lab,Gandhinagar on Edu. Tour with 40 students
from our department on 2 nd Jan 2010.
• We went to the Mental Hospital & B.M.Institute of Mental Health for the
educational purpose on 1 st Feb’2010.There were 55 students from F.Y.BA
to T.Y.BA at this educational tour.
• We visited to Gyan MAhostav which was held at near Thaltej,A’bad for
the educational purpose on 8 th Dec’09.
• Our students has visited to the Mavtar Dham ( Old age home) at Kalol by
there own initiative way on the 31 st Dec’09.It is indeed a matter of honor
that at this age, when students celebrating their 31 st to some
discotheque or parties, some students from the Dep. Of Psychology
passed their grate time of 31 st Dec with the people at Old age home, with
some sweets and fruits and some special happiness from their within.
• Prior to that, a workshop was organized for Public Speaking and later a
college level competition was held in which students participated with
great zeal.
• H.L.I.C organized an event called ‘INTELLECTUS’ in Jan,2010 in which
our student participated in “Essay writing’ in which our student is third
in state.

This year Prof. Dakshaben Patel took over the chairmanship of CWDC.
On the first day, (31 st Aug 09) function was organized to bring awareness
amongst womens.

-Legal rights of women etc.
Girl students were motivated by the R.C.Patel .presence of
Principal along with Prof. R.M.Patel, P.H.Solaki ,M.A.Makwan,Amrut
Chawdhry,K.D.Patel and Prof. D.A.Thaker.
Gyandhara:
MeterGan (schandGan) was organized on 2th sep 09 in sanskrit
department.Professors along with students performed vocal vecitation
of various rituals and stotras.
This progamme was organized under the banner of Gyandhara, which
helped knowing the way of recitation and purifying the speech.
Sanskrit department went for the second time xicitation of
Shivmahimna stotra along with their professors.
Teacher’s day celebration :
Dr. Radhakrishnan’s birthday is celebrated as a Teacher’s day all over
the country.

Our college organized the Teacher’s day programme were Ninety
seven students performed the role of Teachers,peon and Principal.
Best teacher performance was appreciated in the valedictory function.
A separate Teacher’s day was organized in Science department.
Exam Reform :
Prof C.K.Mewada a Head of Economics department went for novel
experiment of conducting exams along with books.
However there was negative impact regarding the experiment as
more time was consumed as compared to traditional way of
conducting exam.
Students were unable to think and write of the grasping the
question was the major drawback of the experiment.
Community Services :
-Along with SBI (State bank of India) and Red cross society
Ahmedabad, college went for a major blood donation camp were 200
bottles of blood was collected.
-Active participation of Hindi subject students in Fund collection for
blind,dumb,deaf people.
Cultural upliftment :
At the occasion of Navratri, Garba programme was organized in
college campus. Students from Arts & Science faculty actively
participated.
Students alimini particularly Himanshu Chawda,builder and social
worker took active interest.
This programme helped in breaking the barriers amongst students
as well as faculty members.
