Polyester filaments are offered at approx. 40-50% of the<br />

price of comparable polyamide filaments and are there<strong>for</strong>e<br />

becoming increasingly interesting as the material <strong>for</strong> airbag<br />

yarns. With the first commercial application in curtain<br />

airbags, this transition has just begun and is now expanding<br />

fast within Europe and the US markets.<br />

The <strong>Oerlikon</strong> <strong>Barmag</strong> safety yarn concept is also well<br />

prepared <strong>for</strong> this development. The special 8-end take-up<br />

design was engineered <strong>for</strong> the <strong>production</strong> of high dpf seat<br />
