faced off in the inaugural<br />
game of the 2013 <strong>CSL</strong><br />
Girls Basketball League<br />
season. Adama Lowe of<br />
<strong>St</strong>. Hope struck first with<br />
a layup. FDA II’s Vinnae<br />
Laing and Diamond Grant<br />
both played outstanding<br />
defense, each finishing<br />
with six rebounds. <strong>St</strong>.<br />
Hope took the lead for<br />
the rest of the game with<br />
two baskets, one from<br />
each of the sisters Adama<br />
Lowe and Awa Lowe.<br />

M.S. 161 edges out M.S. 180<br />
In this tight match, M.S. 180 leapt in<br />
front with 7 points on two running<br />
layups from Johnise Fogg and a 3pointer<br />
by Tanei Rivero. Amanda<br />
Clark of M.S. 161 answered back at<br />
the end of the first quarter with 4 of<br />
her game-high 12 points to help narrow<br />
the lead. M.S. 180’s 1-point lead<br />

MVP Spotlight: Terrell Paul<br />
GIRLS<br />
going into the second half was quickly<br />
erased thanks largely to Clark who<br />
scored 6 of the 3 rd quarter’s 8 points<br />
on a series of transition layups and<br />
jumpers. Alina Encarnation dropped<br />
in a bucket to close the third quarter<br />
for M.S. 161, who held the lead for<br />
the rest of the game.<br />
