tight win BOYS<br />
HVA and M.S. 180 battled for dominance in this close<br />
game. Dustin Marin of HVA closed the first half with<br />
a 3-point play after being fouled on his way to the<br />
basket. HVA led by just one point going into the second<br />
half. Ousmane Diallo of M.S. 180 executed his<br />
own 3-point play at the end of the third quarter to<br />
put M.S. 180 ahead. Though teammate Raiquan Parr<br />
slowed down HVA with three crucial blocks, HVA still<br />
held the lead at the two-minute mark. In the end,<br />
M.S. 180 came out on top with Tamari Gray Jr. hitting<br />
two free throws to seal the deal at 33-29.<br />

Clark of M.S. 161 answered back at<br />
the end of the first quarter with 4 of<br />
her game-high 12 points to help narrow<br />
the lead. M.S. 180’s 1-point lead<br />

GIRLS<br />
going into the second half was quickly<br />
erased thanks largely to Clark who<br />
scored 6 of the 3 rd quarter’s 8 points<br />
on a series of transition layups and<br />
jumpers. Alina Encarnation dropped<br />
in a bucket to close the third quarter<br />
for M.S. 161, who held the lead for<br />
the rest of the game.<br />

Paul scored the first 5 points<br />
for his team and ended the day<br />
with 16 points, most of them<br />

the paint. With his offensive<br />
