His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Omar<br />
Abdullah, Undersecretary of the Department of Planning and<br />
Economy, official spokesman for the graduation ceremony,<br />
also congratulated the graduates and was honored to be part<br />
of this historic moment for <strong>ALHOSN</strong> <strong>University</strong>. His Excellency<br />
Mr. Mohammed gave a word of advice for the new graduates,<br />
mentioning that life holds challenges and obstacles and one<br />
must face those challenges head on, with determination,<br />
strength and perseverance and use the tools they acquired<br />
from their years of study to overcome those obstacles.<br />

Graduate’s Speech<br />

Finally, the graduates were granted their degrees,<br />
both post-graduates and undergraduates in the fields of<br />
Business Administration, Management Information Systems,<br />
and Industrial Engineering. The Gold Students, those who<br />
graduated with a GPA of 4.0, were honored as outstanding<br />
students. The <strong>University</strong>’s Sponsors were also give notable<br />
mention and honored during the ceremony. They are: Silver<br />
Sponsors Al Qudra Holding, and other participating sponsors<br />
including Al-Outba Holding Company, Al Meraikhi General<br />
Contacting Group, and Al Meraikhi Industrial Complex.<br />

The first speaker was Shamsa Al Mehairi. She highlighted the university’s utmost concern in providing a comprehensive<br />
academic environment and grants female students a wealth of opportunities. Thus, reflecting <strong>ALHOSN</strong>’s belief that women are<br />
an integral part of the community and play a fundamental role in the advancement of society. Fellow graduate, Zahra Alzaabi,<br />
presented the speech in <strong>English</strong>. Representing the male graduates was Mohamed Al Katheeri who presented the male graduate<br />
speech in Arabic. He stated that the graduation ceremony is the day to reap the fruits of their labor. He remarked that this day<br />
epitomized the diligence and perseverance of the collective efforts of a team led by those who challenged them to their maximum<br />
potential including all faculty and staff. the graduate, Hussain Madhi delivered the <strong>English</strong> version of the address.<br />

Dr. Aouam holds a PhD in the field of Industrial Engineering obtained from<br />
Purdue <strong>University</strong> in West Lafayette Indiana, USA. His dissertation’s topic<br />
is “Incentive Contracts using Simulation Benchmarks for natural gas local<br />
distribution companies and regulation.” Dr. Aouam’ s research interests<br />
include Operations Research (OR) applications in energy, risk management,<br />
supply chain management and wireless communications. Dr. Aouam<br />
previously worked in the airline industry.
