All the paintings in the church were overpainted with white about
1850 and at the same time the picturs were documented. 15 The
paintings were revealed again during a restoration in 1905 when they
were rather heavily and ruthlessly touched up. 16
The picture with the singing monks was placed in the vault where
the place for the choir was, a very suitable place. Our choir consists
of three singing monks standing among flowers and grass. In front of
them is a lectern or musicstand on which a book lies open. There are
staves or lines of text on the pages, reduced in the restoration from
seven empty staves to three filled lines. All the monks are singing and
the one standing in the front has his hand raised, perhaps to beat
time or possibly to turn the page.

many important positions during his life and who made drawings of
the church which are now in the Antikvarisk-topografiska arkivet in
Stockholm.
