Schools <strong>to</strong> train gide dogs began after World War I. The first American<br />

Combine <strong>the</strong> second <strong>to</strong> last sentence in <strong>the</strong> paragraph (Guide-­‐dog schools are fairly recent.), with<br />

<strong>the</strong> last sentence in <strong>the</strong> paragraph using an introduc<strong>to</strong>ry clause. Write your combined sentence<br />

below <strong>the</strong> paragraph.<br />

Note: <strong>Comma</strong>s are often used where pauses occur naturally in speech.<br />

Examples of introduc<strong>to</strong>ry clauses:<br />
